‘Pure excitement’: New Bills LB Kirksey reunited with college teammate Hyde
‘While linebacker Christian Kirksey might be the newest face in Buffalo, he goes way back with his friend Bills safety Micah Hyde. “(One of) my best friends. New Bills linebacker Christian Kirksey aims to get up to speed quickly
‘It is not a surprise the Bills made the move to add Kirksey. The competition at middle linebacker this summer between Tyrel Dodson, Terrel Bernard, A.J. Klein and Baylon Spector ended with no clear winner. Klein was released and Spector will start the season on injured reserve because of a hamstring injury, meaning either Dodson or Bernard will start the season opener Sept. 11 against the New York Jets. Once he gets up to speed in the defense, it wouldn’t be a surprise if Kirksey challenges for that job.’
Alan Pergament: Stefon Diggs and Damar Hamlin continue to live in national media spotlight – for very different reasons
‘“And as every guy has played this game knows, there is a point in your career where that youthful exuberance and excitement and enthusiasm that you have, ‘I’m going to make it to a Super Bowl every year’ starts to dissipate, fade and that twinkle in his eye wasn’t as bright as it once was when he was younger. I was talking to a great, mature veteran Stefon Diggs. But I feel like the relationship between him and Josh Allen, they all good.”’

Stefon Diggs: Being Bills captain ‘means more’ this year
‘”For me, it means more now than it did when I was, my first time ever being named a captain,” Diggs said Thursday. “Just the consistency of it, the respect from your peers. I know the biggest thing for me is always earning the respect from my teammates, earning the respect from my coaches, and when you get named a captain, that’s like reassurance, like, you might be halfway decent at what you do, you know what I’m saying? Not just professionally, but as far as like how you represent yourself and who you are as a man.”‘
Josh Allen on critics saying Bills’ Super Bowl window is closing: I ignore ‘that outside noise’
‘”One thing I do know is it’s hard to win in this league, it’s hard to win consistently in this league,” Allen told Adam Schein on Mad Dog Sports Radio. “But the type of men that we have in this facility, in this locker room, it’s a special group. So I don’t really hear all that outside noise. I know the type of guys that we have, the energy and the juice that we can bring and how special this team can be.”‘
Bills’ Damar Hamlin to be featured in upcoming episode of CBS’ ‘Secret Celebrity Renovation’
‘Hamlin is assisting a major home renovation for his grandmother, Portia. The 25-year-old will get the opportunity to work alongside former “Survivor” contestant turned contractor Rob “Boston Rob” Mariano and interior designer Sabrina Soto in the episode.’
How Bills RB James Cook has positioned himself for a major workload
‘”He’s really shown some flashes of running strong and powerful and really kind of finishing some runs, which you want to see from him,” offensive coordinator Ken Dorsey said on Aug. 23. “He’s done a nice job with protection situations, picking up blitzers — really stepping up and being physical. So those are the things you want to see from him, because obviously as a runner, you’ve really seen throughout last year and at the start of this year, he’s got some explosive ability. He’s a younger player who just continues to grow with every rep.’
Davis honored to join veterans as Bills captain for 2023
‘”Just his consistency, especially from a young guy on, and he’s been in the weight room this past offseason. There’s been discipline over a course of time that doesn’t waiver,” said Diggs following Thursday’s practice in Orchard Park.’

Buffalo Bills linebacker Christian Kirksey begins new journey but with good company
‘”At the end of the day defense is defense. You got certain coverages. You got to adjust to some of the blitzes,” Kirksey told reporters. “You can only do so much on defense and I’m a quick learner. I’ll get on board fast.”‘
Buffalo Bills WR Gabe Davis has been named a captain for the first time
‘“I’ve been able to go out there and make plays when the opportunities came,” Davis said Thursday. “Whenever you can sit there and be a guy that guys depend on you get a little bit more confidence when it comes around being around guys that you even look up to.”’
