‘Keep in mind the Bills defensive line is still without all-pro edge rusher Von Miller. All that said, what they and linebacker Terrel Bernard did against the Commanders Sunday afternoon. Could have been deemed a war crime by the standards written in the Geneva Convention.’

4 Observations: Bills cruise past Commanders
‘Sean McDermott has dominated young and inexperienced quarterbacks since taking over as the Bills head coach in 2017. His record against QBs with five or fewer career starts: 8-0. In those eight games, the Bills defense has 20 interceptions and just three touchdown passes. Sam Howell, making his fourth career start, threw four interceptions and his inexperience showed. Washington had the ball in the redzone twice and was unable to score thanks to an interception and turnover on downs.’
2 the point: Quick thoughts on the Bills’ Week 3 victory at Washington
‘There’s no pressure for Josh Allen and the offense to outscore opponents every week when the defense isn’t allowing points. The defense finished with four interceptions, one each by Bernard, Micah Hyde, Tre’Davious White, and AJ Epenesa, who returned his 32 yards for a touchdown as the Bills quickly pulled away. Bernard also recovered a fumble. Oh, and the Bills finished with nine sacks.’
Carucci Take 2: The Bills do what a superior team should do against an inferior opponent
‘Though the 16-point first half didn’t reflect as much, the Bills were in firm control, with their defense setting the tone by consistently winning the battle at the line of scrimmage. By halftime, they already had three of the nine sacks and two of the four sacks with which they would finish the game.’
Defense dominates as Bills shut down Commanders
‘Allen did not have a spectacular day but did more than enough to win. He completed 20 passes on 32 attempts for 218 yards, a touchdown, and an interception. He also ran for a 23-yard touchdown and finished with 46 yards on the ground.’
Terrel Bernard has breakout game to lead Bills defense
‘Bernard became the first player since Urlacher in 2007 to record an interception, recover a fumble, and have two sacks in the same game.’
Familiar Bills domination may include hidden big-picture improvement
‘I loved this Josh Allen game. Right from the very first drive. Allen scrambles for a first down and then unleashes an on-the-run, 30-yard dart to Stefon Diggs that converts a 3rd and long which had no business being converted. I thought that was one of the three or four best throws Allen has ever made.’
Bills D-line dominates Commanders
‘Taking over as defensive coordinator, his group dominated Sunday — forcing five turnovers and collecting nine sacks. Only an embarrassing Washington field goal in the last minute prevent Buffalo from pitching a shutout.’
Bills 37, Commanders 3 | Game Recap, highlights + stats to know
‘Linebacker Terrel Bernard was all over the field Sunday, snagging the first interception of the day and tallying two sacks, seven total tackles, one pass defensed and a fumble recovery. Bernard, who got the first and second sack of his career Sunday, also had an interception in last week’s win over the Las Vegas Raiders.’
‘Those guys took the game over’ | Bills offensive line stands strong in Washington
‘The Bills offensive line held the Commanders to zero sacks and just one hit on quarterback Josh Allen in the Bills’ 37-3 win at FedEx Field. They also provided lanes for the Bills rushers to attack, with the Bills totaling 168 yards and two touchdowns on the ground. Fourteen of the Bills’ 33 carries gained five or more yards.’
Top 3 things we learned from Bills at Commanders | Week 3
‘When it rains, it pours and the Bills poured it on in the fourth quarter against the Commanders, running away with a 37-3 victory. It’s Buffalo’s largest margin of victory on the road since winning 35-0 at Miami in Week 2 of the 2021 season.’
