Scouting Report: Greg Rousseau stopping run at elite level for Bills through two games
‘Bills 30, Commanders 20.’
Bills Mailbag: Is Greg Rousseau on his way to becoming a star?
‘Rousseau’s size and movement skills stand out. At 6-foot-6 and 266 pounds, he has the size to be an elite run defender, which he’s been through two weeks. For more on that, see the Scouting Report in today’s issue. Rousseau has six pressures this season, according to Pro Football Focus, so the next step is for him to reach the quarterback and get in the sack column. He’s on the way to becoming the player the Bills hoped he would be when they drafted him in the first round, but there is still room for improvement. The coaching he has received from Eric Washington and the mentoring from Von Miller have played in that. Rousseau has always been a mature player, even going back to when he was a rookie.’

Erik Brady: How DC Bills Backers got 409 tickets for Sunday’s game to keep fans together
‘“I was trying to be cautious so I didn’t get stuck with any,” Wahl says. “But there was still more demand. And I was feeling dangerous. So I called the Commanders and said, ‘How many do you have left?’ ” The answer was 109. Wahl took them all. And, sure enough, all of those sold, too. (For you numerologists out there, the grand total of 409 is a combo of Von Miller’s No. 40 and Kyle Allen’s No. 9.’

How to watch Buffalo Bills vs. Washington Commanders: NFL Week 3 time, TV channel, free live stream
‘The Commanders will present a new challenge for the Bills. Washington has emerged as one of the biggest early season surprises this year, and are currently 2-0 after their stunning 35-33 comeback against the Denver Broncos last week. Sam Howell has shown improvement each game, and it will be as much a test for Washington as it is for Buffalo.’
Five Takes: Allen, Bills hoping to remain red-hot against unbeaten Commanders, vaunted pass rush
‘The aforementioned Washington defensive front four is among the most fearsome in the league, equipped with top-tier talent at both the defensive tackle position and on the edge, including former second overall pick defensive end Chase Young, who returned from a Week 1 injury to record 1.5 sacks against the Broncos in Week 2. The Commanders recorded 7 sacks against Denver, with two other former first-round picks getting in on the action — DE Montez Sweat, who equaled Young’s 1.5 sacks, and DT Daron Payne, who finished with 1 sack. Washington’s other starting defensive lineman, Jonathan Allen, ended the game without a sack but recorded 1 the week before against the Arizona Cardinals.’

Opinion: Capaccio: Bills at Commanders: Sal’s keys, notes and stats
‘The Commanders have one of the best defensive lines in the entire NFL, with Chase Young and Montez Sweat on the edges and Daron Payne and Jonathan Allen inside, all former first round picks. The Bills offensive line will have its hands full. Each one of them has the capability of taking over a game and wrecking an opponent’s game plan. Offensive coordinator Ken Dorsey needs to have a plan to neutralize all four of them at once. That’s a tough ask. But if he can do it, and the line can execute, it will go a long, long way towards helping the Bills to a victory.’
Opinion: Bills’ run game could be best since drought years
‘The Bills are running 12-personnel (two tight ends) 50% of the time in 2023, compared to just 6% in 2022. They’ve gone from the team using the least 12-personnel to one of the team’s using it the most, and it’s helping their run game.’

Bills look to stay consistent on the road vs. Commanders
‘It’ll now be the second time in three weeks that the Bills are facing one of the top defensive lines in the league. In fact. Josh Allen called the Commanders’ defensive front, one of, if not the toughest unit in the NFL.’
