‘“It’s really not relevant. I mean, we’ve had good games for pass rush-wise,” Rousseau told the Gazette after practice Wednesday. “We’ve had games where we want to pick it up. Every week’s a new week. So I kind of have that approach of like, ‘What’s in front of me? How can I get better? How can I fix what went wrong? How can I keep doing what went well?’ So that’s kind of my approach.”’

Connor McGovern leaves practice early, but never leaves field
‘There was also a bit of a scare early at practice with guard Connor McGovern, going down briefly with, what appeared to be, an injury to his right knee. Trainers looked over McGovern, but the veteran never left the field. He did not take any more reps after that point, though.’
Bills have ‘full steam ahead’ attitude as preseason starts to wrap up
‘”We preach to the offense and we try to live it as coaches, focus on this day everyday, and focus on this play every play,” Dorsey said. “We try to be where our feet are and make sure we’re going full steam ahead getting better as a team right now, but full well knowing the task at hand when the season rolls around.”‘
‘He’s just been great’: Dorsey praises Diggs’ attitude, leadership during preseason
‘”He’s come in and he’s just been great,” said offensive coordinator Ken Dorsey. “He’s provided a lot of energy for us every single day. There hasn’t been a day that practice has rolled around and he doesn’t want to be here. He has attacked every single day with a great attitude, great energy and great leadership.”‘
Von Miller practices with helmet for first time since ACL tear
‘He was just working to the side, and is still on the PUP list, which means he can’t practice or play until he’s activated.’
Von Miller in helmet and pads for first time since ACL tear
‘Bills Edge Rusher Von Miller practiced in a helmet and pads on Wednesday afternoon, marking more progress in his recovery.’
Bills practice notes Aug. 23 | Ken Dorsey evaluates offense heading into preseason finale
‘Kincaid and Morris were both active in team drills again today. Kincaid caught a deep ball from quarterback Josh Allen on a fade route that would have resulted in a touchdown were the play not blown dead to continue with practice. In a later drill from the 3-yard line, Morris overcame double coverage to catch a touchdown pass.’
Analysis: Bills need to give Spencer Brown a very long rope at right tackle
‘He has uncommon mobility for a tackle who is 6-foot-8½, with 34-inch long arms. A lot of tackles that tall are a little stiff bending at the knees. Not Brown. He had ridiculous testing numbers entering the 2021 NFL Draft, when the Bills picked him in the third round. His 40-yard dash time of 4.94 would rank among the top 20 tackles at the NFL Scouting Combine the last 20 years. His 20-yard shuttle time of 4.40 would have tied for sixth among all OTs the past 20 years.’
Observations: Jordan Phillips ready to make his preseason debut Saturday
‘Phillips started training camp on the physically unable to perform list as he recovers from offseason shoulder surgery to repair a torn rotator cuff. Although he was activated off the PUP list on Aug. 6, it’s been a slow buildup in his return to the lineup. Phillips, who underwent surgery on Feb. 14, has only recently started to take more reps during the full-team portion of practice.’
Bisons again team with Bills safety Micah Hyde for ‘Mystery Ball Night’ on Aug. 29 in Sahlen Field
‘At the event, fans can purchase one of 500 autographed baseballs, gift-wrapped to conceal the signee’s identity, with all proceeds to benefit Hyde’s Imagine for Youth Foundation. The balls will be sold for $40 at the Oak Street gate only, and gates open at 6 p.m. Hyde also will throw the ceremonial first pitch prior to the game.’
If the Bills pull off a trade for Jonathan Taylor are they the Super Bowl favorites?
‘What was interesting about Whitner’s comment is that he threw a little shade at star quarterback Josh Allen while making the case for the Bills to go after Taylor. “Running the ball and running it with consistency in the fourth quarter, in four-minute situations,” Whitner said. “In four-minute situations, we have the ball, we have to retain it and knock as much time off the clock to win those close games in the payoffs. You cannot continually put the ball in Josh Allen’s hands in those moments; we’ve seen him fail in those moments.”’
Buffalo Bills notes: Stephen A. and Stefon Diggs drama, players signed, pass rush problems
‘“We’re using the process right now to make sure that we’re ready to go when it counts and right now we’re in the midst of that,” he said. “There’s some things that we just need to do a little bit better as far as coordination, as far as all being on the same page, so we can really take advantage of the exceptional talent that we have to win one-on-one.’
Bills’ Tuesday practice produces plenty of injury updates; Diggs all smiles; Jessica Pegula attends
‘Wide receiver Khalil Shakir was sidelined during Tuesday’s session, as was rookie LB Dorian Williams and LB Terrel Bernard, who continued to rehab his injured hamstring alongside athletic trainers. Among those who missed Tuesday’s practice were defensive tackle Eli Ankou (calf), quarterback Matt Barkley, who was wearing a sleeve on his injured elbow, and OL Greg Mancz, who was wearing a sleeve on an apparent injured leg.’
Bills’ Stefon Diggs quickly responds to Stephen A. Smith over ‘sources’ claiming he wants out
‘The comments harkened back to issues the Bills and Diggs had already worked through when it was reported in June he was not at mandatory mini-camp when it opened.’
Bills’ Stefon Diggs rips Stephen A. Smith over comments suggesting he wants out of Buffalo: ‘100% not true’
‘”Brother wants out. I’m just telling you what I know,” Smith said. “He don’t want to be in Buffalo anymore. I have my sources. Stefon Diggs has got to be there, but he’d prefer to be gone because he’s lost a level of belief in the Buffalo Bills.”‘
