‘Dodson started meditating about a week and a half ago, based off a suggestion from safety Jordan Poyer. For the first few days, he did it in the locker room. That presented an obvious obstacle to the otherwise calming practice. “It’s loud. So, I was like, let me just see if I can do it on the grass,” he said. “And I’ve been doing on the grass, laying down and just collecting my thoughts. … Just being thankful for today.”’

Observations: Dog days of camp preparing Bills for regular season
‘“It’s a mindset and want-to,” defensive tackle DaQuan Jones told The Buffalo News. “Back-to-back days in pads, you have to remember why you’re out here and what you’re striving for. You can get caught up in the moment sometimes say, ‘This (stuff) is tough,’ and weakness of the mind comes in. But in between periods, we talk about why we’re doing this and it makes it go a lot better.”’
Bills’ Boogie Basham shines in preseason with back against the wall for roster spot
‘Basham was in on three tackles including a sack, and he was a menace on several of the 19 snaps he played. On one first-quarter snap he stuffed Colts running back Evan Hull on a third-and-2 and on the next play Damar Hamlin stopped Hull to create a turnover on downs. Later, he sacked Gardner Minshew for a loss of six yards, and he tackled Jake Funk on a run play that gained only a yard.’
Bills’ Wednesday practice features a couple of heated moments; Injury updates; Hamlin, Allen-Isabella connection rising
‘Emotions continued to run high at Wednesday’s Bills practice as, following a day of scuffles, a few more heated exchanges occurred during the two-plus-hour session.’
Hannah Strong: North Tonawanda native with Batavia ties featured on Josh’s Jaqs cereal box
‘Since that first meeting, the relationship between Hannah and the Bills QB has flourished, so much so that an image from their first meeting was selected to be featured on the fourth edition of Josh’s Jaqs cereal. Josh’s Jaqs was created in part by PLB Sports and Entertainment, a Pittsburgh-based company that works with some of the world’s greatest athletes and entertainers to create a premier line of superior quality food products that also help raise money for various local charities.’
Bills’ Tommy Doyle continues to rehab from torn ACL as battle for offensive line spots heats up
‘When the game started Saturday, Doyle appeared to be on the roster bubble, behind at least four offensive tackles — Spencer Brown, Dion Dawkins, David Quessenberry and Brandon Shell — throughout training camp at St. John Fisher University. But when Shell abruptly retired Tuesday, Doyle was given another chance to climb back up the depth chart.’
Training Camp Observations: Journeyman Andy Isabella quickly climbing Bills receiving depth chart
‘Not only does his solid speed — Isabella ran a 4.31-second 40-yard dash at the NFL Combine — and quickness help him give the Bills depth in the slot, but he is also capable of returning kicks and punts.’
Bills 53-man roster projection: How to put finishing touches on a title team
‘Jordan Mims showed a few good pass-protection reps in the preseason opener while looking like a natural as a pass-catcher with two receptions for 30 yards to go with his seven carries for 23 yards. He could sneak his way onto the back of the roster. But for now, the Bills put him on the practice squad — largely because they need space over on defense for their depth.’
Rapp has already taken to playing for the Bills
‘Rapp started 48 out of the 57 games he played with the Rams and has nine career interceptions. When Rapp was looking for some place to play, he liked what he saw in Buffalo. He said he had admired Jordan Poyer and Micah Hyde from afar, but it was more than that, “I’ve always had respect for what coach McDermott and Brandon Beane have been building here and just going back to free agency, me just being able to find the right culture and the right team that not only fits me as a football player, but also from a cultural perspective.’
Damien Harris returns to practice; Gabe Davis, Baylon Spector day-to-day
‘However, wide receiver Gabe Davis sat out with general soreness, while linebacker Baylon Spector missed with a back injury. Both are considered day-to-day.’
Dorsey: Barkley, Allen graded out similarly in preseason opener
‘”I know that Matt’s numbers are what they were, and he did a great job, but at the end of the day, both of them graded out very similar,” said Dorsey on Wednesday when speaking with the media before practice.’
Buffalo Bills safety Taylor Rapp hopes to be ‘missing puzzle piece’ to defense
‘”At the end of the day all I care about is being a puzzle piece to be able to help this team take the next step,” Rapp says. “At the end of the day it’s all about winning. And that’s all I care about.”‘
Buffalo Bills WR Andy Isabella embracing uphill battle
‘“It’s been a journey for sure, it’s been a grind,” Isabella said. “I’m up late studying the plays, but I’m having fun with it, staying in the moment, worried about today, and having fun with it.”’
Safety net: Rapp brings talent, depth to the Bills’ secondary
‘”I’ve loved it ever since I’ve been here for the last three, four months dating back to the offseason program,” Rapp said. “I was telling some of the guys, in my four years in L.A., I actually felt more comfortable in here during the offseason program within the first month or something like that.”‘
Erie County Sheriff vows to investigate allegations of mistreatment lodged by Bills fans with disabilities
‘Carey says that after a parking attendant initially waved the bus through, an Erie County Sheriff’s Deputy then stopped it, preventing it from going any further. “The driver tried to explain that he wanted to go in, just to drop us off and then leave, but the deputy wouldn’t let him,” Carey recalled.’
