‘There is no doubt Dorsey is under some pressure in his second season. While the offense put up big numbers in his first year, it failed the “eyeball test” at times, and things just looked hard. The offense also came up small in the biggest moment, scoring just 10 points in a home playoff loss. That has shaped how General Manager Brandon Beane approached the offseason. There has been a significant overhaul at every position, including quarterback, if you count Kyle Allen as the new No. 2 at the position.’

Ryan O’Halloran: Extending Bills defensive tackle Ed Oliver now – and not during season – is a head-scratcher
‘So why the rush? I get it from Oliver’s camp – if the Bills were game on doing a deal this early, they were right to jump. But the Bills’ urgency … I don’t know. The New York Jets’ Quinnen Williams and Miami’s Christian Wilkins, drafted Nos. 3 and 13 in Oliver’s class (Ed was No. 9), are in line for new deals. Williams is in a different orbit with 27 1/2 sacks and 191 tackles in 57 games (first-team All Pro last year). Wilkins has fewer sacks than Oliver (11 1/2 compared to 14 1/2) but more tackles (290 compared to 191). Did the Bills want to get ahead of a Wilkins extension? Maybe.’

Pressure Is On For Ed Oliver After Buffalo Bills’ Show Of Faith
‘Oliver, who is now signed through the 2027 season, ranks 11th among defensive tackles in average annual salary following his extension, according to Spotrac. He will earn an average of $17 million a year. However, in terms of practical guaranteed money, Oliver is sixth for his position. A lofty position for a player who has recorded five sacks only once in his pro career, doing so in his rookie season of 2019.’
