‘NFL Network insider Ian Rapoport was asked about his biggest miss on a recent podcast hosted by Sports Illustrated media reporter Jimmy Traina. Rapoport immediately recalled the Antonio Brown story, and said the fallout changed how he goes about his job.’

Ryan O’Halloran: Josh Allen’s ‘locked-in’ approach is right one to lead Bills this year
‘“He’s dialed in – you can just tell,” backup quarterback Matt Barkley told me last week at the PGA Championship in Rochester. “The last couple of years left a sour taste in all of our mouths and I think he understands the opportunity we have and the players we have.”’
Jim Nantz shares why he’ll never forget Buffalo Bills and Bills Mafia fan base
‘“And then the Bills Mafia…,” said Nantz. “We have an Alzheimer’s research institute named for my father in Houston which is doing some groundbreaking things. The Nantz Center, which is named for my dad, was inundated with donations from the Bills Mafia. People would send big donations, big and small, and all said the same thing. ‘The Bills Mafia, thank you. God bless you, Jim. We remember your mom.’ I mean, the only team in the NFL, and it wasn’t a handful of people. I’ll never forget that.”’
Why Bills believe former No. 1 high school recruit Justin Shorter has ‘our kind of DNA’
‘“He wasn’t a natural football player, and I mean mentally. I’ll be quite honest with you, his parents weren’t too crazy about him playing football after he hurt his ankle in the eighth grade,” Goerge said. “What he did with his work ethic and how he improved and how he just made himself into a great player – I can still remember him and his dad in the summer. We would have early-morning workouts, 7 a.m. or whatever it was, and they would come an hour early, just to be on the JUGS machine. He was constantly working his craft. It just blossomed. He gained that confidence.”’
Bills Mailbag: Should Matt Araiza be given another chance in Buffalo?
‘As for the Bills, it’s probably best for both sides to move on. Sam Martin did just fine last season, and the Bills signed him to an extension. It makes no sense to peel off the scab and have to answer questions about Araiza – a punter drafted in the sixth round – all over again. I’m guessing fan reaction would be split if Araiza were signed. There are some who would welcome him getting another chance, and others who feel like there is no need to go down that road again.’
Cup-and-char pizza. Charbroiled cooking. Legends exec dishes on what Bills fans can expect
‘The cooking style is very different. Let’s use a menu item like pizza. Pizza is very regional and people are passionate about the pizza style. In your marketplace, we have to serve that cup-and-char pizza. Hands down, that has to be on the menu. And now, when we’re designing the stadium, we have to make sure we were able to deliver that same quality that you would get there, or in one of the local neighborhood taverns. I’ve been to La Nova, and that’s the style that we would look to emulate inside the stadium. That’s what fans want, and they told us that.”
Former Bills receiver Stevie Johnson finds second life as children’s author
‘“I didn’t say I was going to do this, it kind of just happened, you know?” Johnson said. “And when I met with these guys, it was like, ‘Okay, we got to do more and let’s make the most of it.’ But we didn’t have any thoughts about, ‘This (has) got to be our plan.’ It just kind of happened.”’
