Former Alabama DL headed to the Buffalo Bills
‘A Clay-Chalkville grad, Dale was a starter over the past four seasons in Tuscaloosa. Injuries limited action at some point nearly every season with the Crimson Tide as he completed his senior season with 17 tackles (3.5 for loss) including 2.5 sacks.’
South Alabama’s Jalen Wayne signs with Buffalo Bills as undrafted free agent
‘Wayne posted a Bills logo on his Instagram account and later confirmed to AL.com he was signing with the team.’
Bills Focus On Upgrading Offense Around Allen In NFL Draft
‘After salary-cap constraints limited the three-time defending divisional champs to making modest signings in free agency, Beane used what little draft capital he had to give Josh Allen a new target in Utah tight end Dalton Kincaid and a hulking protector in Florida guard O’Cyrus Torrence.’
Bills select wide receiver Justin Shorter with 150th pick in 2023 NFL Draft
‘This past season in nine games played, Shorter finished with 29 catches for 577 yards and two touchdowns. Some his best games this past year with the Gators included a Week 4 loss to the Tennessee Volunteers, where he caught seven passes for 155 yards. In his final game of the 2022 season, Shorter caught eight passes for 106 yards against Vanderbilt.’
Bills select guard Nick Broeker with 230th pick in 2023 NFL Draft
‘In his four years at Mississippi Broeker did not miss one game, appearing in 48 games for the Rebels starting 23 games at left tackle, and 13 at left guard. In his senior season he earned first team all SEC along with second team All-American. Broeker won the Kent Hull Trophy for the best offensive linemen in the state of Mississippi.’
Bills select cornerback Alex Austin with 252nd pick in 2023 NFL Draft
‘As a redshirt Sophomore, Austin played and started 12 games for the Beavers in 2022. In his final season Austin had two interceptions to go along with 42 solo tackles, one sack, a fumble recovery, and 10 pass breakups. He was an All-Pac-12 honorable mention, as well as Pac-12 Defensive player of the Week (Oct. 24).’
Opinion: Capaccio: Shorter makes Bills pass catchers bigger
‘Shorter joins 6’3”, 246 pound tight end Dalton Kincaid as the team’s newest pass catchers. Kincaid was the Bills’ first round choice and will mainly play as a big slot receiver as opposed to a traditional tight end. Shorter can also play in the slot as a bigger target, but mostly projects as an outside target, at least to start his career.’
Opinion: Capaccio: Beane continued to be on offensive in draft
‘Even since last season ended in a stunning 27-10 AFC Divisional Playoff loss at home to the Cincinnati Bengals, General manager Brandon Beane and head coach Sean McDermott has talked multiple times about helping to protect quarterback Josh Allen and finding ways to make it easier on him in 2023.’
Buffalo Bills select Florida WR Justin Shorter in fifth round
‘Shorter, who is 6’4″ and 229 pounds brings size to a receiver room and becomes their biggest wideout.’
Buffalo Bills select guard Nick Broeker in seventh round
‘Broeker, 22, played in 48 games with Mississippi starting 23 times at left tackle and 13 times at left guard. In 2022, Broeker started every game at guard, not allowing a sack.’
Buffalo Bills select CB Alex Austin with their final pick of 2023 NFL Draft
‘Austin was a four-year starter with the Beavers from 2019 until 2022, finishing his collegiate career with 140 tackles, four interceptions, 24 passes defended and three fumble recoveries.’
