‘Allen and Davis teamed up for another score in the second quarter, with Davis making a one-handed catch for a 62-yard touchdown as Buffalo increased its lead to 17-3.’

Bills’ Josh Allen furthers NFL MVP case with career-best passing performance vs. Steelers
‘Allen may have been critical of himself, but it’s clear that his performance against Pittsburgh was one of the finest of his career. And it will do a lot to further establish him as the MVP frontrunner for the 2022 NFL season.’
Why six teams passed on Josh Allen in the 2018 NFL Draft, gifting Bills a star QB
‘In his final year at Wyoming, Allen posted a 56.3 percent completion rate, and across all three years at the school he was at 56.2 percent. That’s not exactly encouraging stuff for the next level. In addition to Allen’s accuracy, other mechanical aspects of his game were dissected: His footwork and ability to harness his unique arm talent also plagued some scouts.’
Bills win big in career day for Allen
‘Buffalo came into the game with a few lingering injuries from weeks prior, but that didn’t phase the Bills, as they turned to rookies like Khalil Shakir and James Cook to become crucial pieces in the team’s 38-3 win.’
McDermott likes Bills’ poise during injury issues
‘”Not flinching when things don’t go our way with the injuries, in this case, or anything for that matter,” said McDermott with the assembled media. “Coming out in the second half the way the guys did, not flinching in that regard either. When things are going well and we’re up like we were, to have the leadership and the wherewithal and the poise to go back out there and play one play at a time.”‘
Allen impressed with rookie performances Sunday against Steelers
‘”That’s gonna help us going forward, getting this run game involved,” Allen said of Cook. “Our backs did a great job running the ball today. Seeing James get going, get his first touchdown. Getting Khalil his first touchdown. That’s a special moment for those guys, and I’m happy we got to be a part of it.”‘
Opinion: Arrow Up/Arrow Down: Steelers at Bills
‘The Bills scored only one touchdown, despite four trips into the Steelers’ red zone.’
Bills power through Steelers, 38-3
‘Gabe Davis is getting his highlight reel ready and managed to snag the Bills longest offensive play in franchise history. Davis gets a 98-yard touchdown and then follows up with a 62-yard touchdown helping Josh Allen to a whopping 261-yard passing game with 10 minutes left in the first half.’
Efficient and productive: Gabe Davis shines in 171 yard, two touchdown performance
‘Davis racked up 171 yards and found the endzone twice. And after dealing with a lingering ankle injury the past few weeks. Davis told reporters after the game that he’s feeling the best that he has since that injury. Allowing him to hit his stride this afternoon.’
Bills get big contributions from rookies in blowout win over Steelers
‘It was a big day for the 2022 rookie class as wide receiver Khalil Shakir and running back James Cook scored their first career touchdowns while cornerback Kaiir Elam caught his first career interception.’
4 Observations: Bills bury Steelers with big plays in 38-3 win
‘Defensive tackle Jordan Phillips was back in the lineup after missing the last two games, and he made an impact. The veteran only had one tackle in the game, but that does not even begin to describe what he means to the defense. The Bills were missing key pieces up the middle (Edmunds and Poyer) but Phillips did a great job of swallowing up blockers, keeping Tyrel Dodson clean, allowing him to make plays. He’s also one of the emotional leaders of the defense. The defense has a different kind of juice when he’s on the field.’
Carucci Take2: The Bills do the expected, dominate woeful Steelers
‘The Bills had some execution hiccups, which were understandable considering the huge challenge of maintaining concentration when the opponent is so bad. As various points, it felt like a preseason game, with the Bills’ starters beating up on Steeler backups.’
Allen has career day as Bills blow out Steelers
‘Backed up on their own two yard-line because of a muffed kickoff return, Allen threw a 98-yard bomb to Gabriel Davis for a touchdown less than two minutes into the game. That was the afternoon in a nutshell.’
Youth steps up in big spots for big Bills win
‘On offense, rookie Khalil Shakir was the third receiver because of injuries. He was one of many rookies who stepped up totaling 75 yards and a touchdown on three catches.’
Bills annihilation of Steelers comes at perfect time
‘This is a jolt the Bills may have needed as an offense. They’ve been stuck the last couple weeks into plodding scoring drives that lasted 15, 17 or 20 plays. Miami and Baltimore sat back and forced Josh Allen to go to the length of the field one checkdown at a time.’
