‘”I don’t think our whole football team right now, myself included is where we wanna be. We did some things tonight that are uncharacteristic of how we do things. We’ve got a week to get those things worked out here.” McDermott said, “It’s hard to win and it’s good to win whenever you do win so I don’t want to overlook that. There was a lot of things in tonight’s game that needed work.”‘

Bills Hold Off Packers 27-17
‘This was a chippy game, and Bills coach Sean McDermott can’t be happy that wide receiver Gabe Davis was flagged for a late shove on a Packers defensive back, and the pf for 15 yards cost the Bills a scoring drive. Stefon Diggs jawed with some Packers players coming down the tunnel before the game, but Diggs backed it up with 6 catches for 108 yards and a TD on the field. Davis had 2 catches for 35 yards and tight end Dawson Knox 2 for 10 yards. Both should be busier next week.’
Bills’ standard is hard (even for them) to match
‘We Western New York media types have done plenty of “The Bills won, but…” stories over the last couple years. Those stories used to be written as a comparison to an opponent or two the Bills would face down the road. Buffalo might have won the game, but how they won wouldn’t fly against whatever elite opponent was lurking on the schedule weeks later.’

The other tees: quarterback Josh Allen, general manager Brandon Beane and late Kansas City Chiefs pass rusher Derrick Thomas.’
Proving ground: Bills’ defense stands atop NFL, providing optimism for Leslie Frazier to get second head coaching chance
‘“I think a lot of people are hiring these young, offensive gurus and that’s all well and good,” Bills coach Sean McDermott told The Buffalo News before practice Thursday. “But at the end of the day, it’s a leadership job as opposed to a play-calling job and Leslie is very mature and not only understands the defensive side, but has a great feel for what he wants offensively.’
