‘“He does a really good job of teaching, which is what good coaches have to be able to – just teach players and really get them to go out and perform,” defensive coordinator Leslie Frazier said. “John is always prepared and has his players prepared and this week and really throughout this season, he’s had to juggle some lineups and get guys ready and he’s done a terrific job of getting them prepared to go out and play at the NFL level.’

PlayAction: Bills’ D braces for battle of bigs; Ravens eschew three-WR sets
‘The Ravens are using a three-wide-receiver set on just 11.4% of their offensive plays, according to Buffalo News charting. It’s by far the lowest in the NFL. More than 88% of the time, the Ravens use “big personnel” – a fullback on the field, or two tight ends, or three tight ends, or two backs and two tight ends. It makes for an unusual challenge for Buffalo’s defense.’
Bills wide receiver Gabe Davis does not practice Thursday
‘This marks a downgrade from Wednesday when he was listed as a limited participant. During the portion of practice open to the media Thursday, Davis was on the field without a helmet, watching his teammates go through drills.’
Former Bills defensive tackle Justin Zimmer has tryout with team
‘Zimmer, 29, is a 6-foot-3, 300-pounder who played 18 games for the Bills over the past two seasons. He was limited to just six games in 2021 because of a torn ACL suffered in Week 6 against the Titans. He finished the year with eight tackles, four quarterback hits and one sack before getting hurt.’
How we see it: News sports writers weigh in on Bills vs. Ravens
‘Mark Gaughan: It should be an exciting shootout between two of the best quarterbacks in the game. The Bills’ offense should be able to move on the Ravens. Baltimore’s edge rushing contingent is depleted. That’s bad vs. Buffalo. They’re going to have to blitz to get pressure on Josh Allen. I think the Bills will move the ball. On the other side, it’s hard to stop Lamar Jackson from making great plays. He’s playing better than when the Bills faced him in the 2020 playoffs. If it’s a battle of running games, the Ravens will win. If Jordan Poyer doesn’t play, I’d pick the Ravens. But I think Poyer will play, and the guess is the weather will not prevent the Bills from passing reasonably well. Bills, 27-26.’

‘Prediction: Buffalo over Ravens by 7.’
Bills fans likely to move Baltimore party inside: ‘We’ll just bundle up and wear ponchos’
‘Weather forecasts call for a near 100% chance of steady rain in Baltimore for Saturday and a significant chance for lighter rain the next day, making for a soggy environment for not only the 1 p.m. game but also tailgating and weekend parties and sightseeing.’
ECC to transfer South Campus sports fields to county to make way for Bills stadium construction
‘ECC already knew the county would need use of those fields at least temporarily for staging throughout the construction, which is expected to take three years starting next spring. But the transaction approved Thursday will make that transfer permanent.’
Voice of the Fan: You have to hand it to the Dolphins, which the Bills did
‘Gabe Davis, who rarely drops a ball, dropped a touchdown. Tyler Bass, who doesn’t miss gimme field goals, shanked a chip shot. Matt Milano had a gift pick-six interception return, and instead decided to return the gift.’
While Bills are dynamic on offense, the running game is an issue. Can it be fixed?
‘In the first three games, the Bills have faced 27 plays where they needed to make one or two yards for a first down, and they’ve converted 15 of them. That’s not terrible, but for an offense like Buffalo’s, you’d think the numbers should be better.’
Source: Buffalo Bills recently worked out fan favorite defensive tackle
‘A source tells Syracuse.com that Buffalo recently brought in free agent Justin Zimmer for a workout. Zimmer, 29, was placed on the injured reserve last season due to a knee injury that he suffered in November. The intention of the visit was to see the status of Zimmer’s recovery from the injury.’

Jackson, Allen Make Ravens-Bills A Star-Studded Affair
‘The knock on Allen when he came into the NFL was his accuracy, and that was borne out to some degree his first two seasons in the league. Even then, he was a significant threat running the ball, and once he blossomed as a passer, the Bills took off. Allen is completing 71.2% of his throws this season, and he has passed for nine touchdowns and rushed for one. Only Jackson (10 passing, two rushing) has accounted for more TDs.’
Bills, Ravens Meet In Matchup Of 2 Of NFL’s Top Offenses
‘Key Matchup: Jackson vs. Buffalo QB Josh Allen. There’s no sense in overthinking this. These are two of the game’s biggest stars, both are off to stellar starts, and after being drafted the same year (2018), they’ll probably always be linked to some degree. The difference this week is that Jackson faces the league’s top-ranked defense and Allen is up against the No. 32-ranked group. Still, it should be a treat for neutral fans watching this game no matter which team has the ball.’
Dion Dawkins returns to Thursday’s practice; Gabriel Davis sits
‘But while Dawkins returned to the field, wide receiver Gabe Davis was present, but did not participate. Davis has been dealing with an ankle injury that saw him miss Week 2 against the Tennessee Titans, and force him to practice on a limited basis on Wednesday.’
