Players on bubble look to impress in Bills’ preseason finale vs. Panthers

‘Tight ends Quentin Morris and Tommy Sweeney. Entering camp many suspected the Bills would keep two tight ends on the active roster and stash the third (Sweeney) on the practice squad. Morris, however, had another good summer, catching almost everything thrown in his direction and improving as a blocker. Morris made more plays in camp than Sweeney. Sweeney is a bigger man and has more special teams experience. The Bills kept only two tight ends last year. Would Morris make it through waivers and onto the practice squad like last year?’

Lawsuit accuses Buffalo Bills punter Matt Araiza of rape

‘Araiza and two other San Diego State football players are named in the suit. The 22-year-old punter, who the Bills selected in the sixth round of April’s NFL Draft, allegedly raped the girl while she was intoxicated outside of the house where the party took place. He then took her inside of the house to a bedroom and proceeded to rape her again along with the two other players, according to the law suit.’

It would be surprising if the Bills cut Howard, as such a move would carry a dead cap hit of over $2 million. But with Morris and Sweeney showing well early on and Howard failing to make his presence felt on a regular basis, there is a slight chance the Bills could be inclined to find a trade partner to unload Howard and make room for Sweeney and Morris. Or perhaps choose one of them to usurp Howard as the team’s secondary option at the position.’

The lawsuit, filed in San Diego County Superior Court, alleges that the then-high school senior went in and out of consciousness but remembers moments as the men took turns assaulting her.’
