Predicting four 2022 first-time Pro Bowlers for Buffalo Bills: Jordan Poyer long overdue for nod
‘In recent years, Josh Allen, Stefon Diggs, Dion Dawkins, Tre’Davious White and Tremaine Edmunds have been named to the Pro Bowl. Who are some first-time Pro Bowlers that could be added to the list?’
Bills questions: What should be expected from the remade defensive line?
‘“I think it helps where we’re at in our careers,” Miller said. “If we all came in when we were rookies, it’s still a learning process that we have. All of these guys have been the guy somewhere else and we all know how to make it work, especially pass-rush wise in our room on the D-line. We know each other’s strengths. Even my short time here, I know these guys, these guys know me. I’m a fan of football. I knew all of these guys before I had even come to the Buffalo Bills. So I know their strengths and they know mine. … You don’t have to sit down and talk and have meetings and you don’t have to pull guys to the side and get stuff straight. It just works. And it’s just a testament to the type of guys that we have in the locker room here.”’
Two QBs taken ahead of Bills’ Josh Allen in 2018 draft are now teammates
‘Mayfield and Darnold, the two quarterbacks selected ahead of Allen, are now teammates who are trying to hang on and prove that they can be the longterm answer for Carolina or elsewhere down the road at quarterback.’
Sean McDermott shares how he battles back against skin cancer
‘“Thankfully my Mom and Dad had me go to a dermatologist when I was younger in Philadelphia. A couple things frozen off then that were what they call AK’s or actinic keratosis and so then it kind of got more and more significant I guess you’d say with basal cell and squamous cell. So I think it’s just as I’ve gotten older it’s just, it continues to be more and more of a fight and I have to be more and more aware of what I’m wearing sunblock, clothing, etc.,” McDermott said.’
Future of Hammer’s Lot in new Bills stadium plans
‘The auxiliary building, representing by the letter “F” in the second image below, could be located directly behind Hammer’s Lot. Matwijow is not concerned about losing his property or how close the stadium land will be to his lot, but he is worried about snow piling up.’
3 reasons why the Bills’ defense will improve in 2022 | Camp Countdown 2022
‘”They’re all jack of all trades,” Jones said. “They all can move around and play different positions, which I think is very important at this level. To have [defensive] ends that can play inside, outside, and move all around – to be a good team, you can be more diverse in what you do. I think the depth and what they can do is really going to help.”‘
Bills questions: Can team keep veteran special-teams corps together?
‘“I definitely hope it’s a continuation of good things, for sure,” Smiley said of his approach in taking over for Heath Farwell, now with the Jacksonville Jaguars. “Heath and I worked very closely with one another, and so a majority of the philosophy will be very similar. Obviously, potentially some personality changes on the field and in the classroom, but schematically, probably more similar than different.”’
On the idea board for a new Bills stadium: Shaded seats, recliners and an ‘ultra-exclusive club’
‘But the full experience of the next Buffalo Bills stadium, which is expected to open in 2026 at a projected cost of $1.4 billion, is considerably more nuanced. Sure, you’ll still head there to watch National Football League games, and yes, the sightlines from the seats to the field are still vital. But so, too, are factors such as space, heating, fancier and easy-to-buy food and beverages and protection from rain, snow and sun.’
Bills Coordinator Leslie Frazier Helps Young Coaches Advance
‘“I’d be lying if I told you that I felt like it would take this long to have that opportunity come along, especially after some of the success and particularly the most recent success we’ve had in Buffalo,” Frazier said on the AP Pro Football Podcast. “So it’s discouraging in some ways, but you just have to be able to control what you can control. I’m going to do the very best I can and help us to have another good defense in 2022 and help the Buffalo Bills win as many games as we can and put us in a position to compete for the world championship.”‘
Is Bills’ Josh Allen the NFL’s greatest QB playing right now?
‘”But when you talk about individual quarterback — looking at their attributes, looking at what they can do on the field and looking at what they personally do at the position in terms of accomplishments — whew, look at Josh Allen,” Wiley added. “He continues to improve every single year. … Josh Allen is the greatest QB that we have playing right now.”‘
Buffalo Bills: Josh Allen Hoping To Improve Accuracy In 2022
‘Indeed, in 2020 Allen was second in the league with a Completion Percentage Over Expected (CPOE) of 4.6 percent, according to the NFL’s NextGen Stats. Last season, his number dipped to minus 0.9 percent while averaging fewer Air Yards per attempt (8.6) than he did in 2020 (8.8).’
NFL receivers are getting older faster
‘The Bills elected to pay Stefon Diggs a four year, $96 million dollar contract extension in August as he heads into his age 29 season. The worry level for 2022 is still relatively small. Receivers in their age 29 season have generally still maintained a high level of production. Beyond that, the expectations get dicey, but there is reason for optimism with Diggs’ future.’
Bills questions: What are the options if Tre White isn’t full go at the start of the year?
‘Jackson, a seventh-round pick in 2020, bounced between the practice squad and active roster as a rookie before starting last season as the top backup to White and Levi Wallace. “Dane’s a winner and whether it was his first season when he played through splashes of time, he went out there and performed and that’s hard to do as a rookie,” head coach Sean McDermott said. “Then last season as well. Tre goes down, Dane steps in, finished off the Saints game, and didn’t miss a beat. So are there things he can do better? Yeah, and he’s working his butt off to do that. There are things we can all do better, but that’s what I love about Dane is he’s committed. He’s one of the first ones here every morning, one of the last to leave. Comes in on his own, even on the weekends at times, and he’s a true pro.”’
Von Miller looks to replicate feat with Bills that was accomplished by NFL all-time sack leader Bruce Smith
‘Smith signed a six-year, $28.2 million deal with the Bills in 1997 — but didn’t get to see the whole deal in Buffalo as a result of a salary cap dump after the 1999 season. He landed a five-year, $23 million deal with Washington in 2000 at 37 years old, playing on a contract that kept him in an NFL uniform until he was 41. Smith was released heading into the final year of his contract (at age 40), but hinted he was going to retire prior to his release. The 29 sacks Smith put up in Washington allowed him to become the league’s all-time sack leader, notching 200 sacks in a 19-year career. ‘
