Bills training camp observations Day 3: Defensive line causes widespread disruption
‘The one-on-one drills between the offensive and defensive lines didn’t feature the game-line contact that happens on the line of scrimmage. Nevertheless, Phillips showed his quickness in beating Ford. Dion Dawkins handled Epenesa twice. Mitch Morse held his own twice. Doyle and David Quessenberry held off Lawson and Greg Rousseau, respectively.’
He met the fight of his life head on. Now he’s looking to extend his career with the Bills
‘“Everything happens so fast, you kind of just take it one day at a time,” he said. “And you just fight like hell; you just do what you got to do, you do what the doctors tell you, you believe that you’re in the right hands and you’ve got the right care and you just go. I don’t know if I ever fully accepted it, I just was like, ‘Hey, this is my fight today and this is what you’ve got to do.’”’
Bills’ punters face off in camp on day 3, Josh Allen frustrated, James Cook electric (Observations)
‘Haack had eight punts and Araiza had seven in a live setting with returners. The first came off the foot of Haack, who showcased the one part of his game that is significantly better than the rookie’s: Hang time. Haack put on high in the air that had decent distance. Marquez Stevenson struggled to track it and muffed it when it landed. Haack boomed about a 60-yarder before yielding the field to Araiza.’
Who is Jordan Simmons? Bills add guard with Rodger Saffold on NFI list
‘Simmons was a five-star recruit entering USC, but injuries prevented Simmons from showing what he could do. The Bills’ newest OL was redshirted as a freshman after having knee surgery prior to the season. He was on the field for seven games as a reserve lineman the next year before a knee injury ended his 2013 campaign. He suffered a knee injury the following season as which sidelined him for the remainder of the year. He would also sprain his knee in 2015 fall camp with USC. In the NFL, Simmons suffered a knee injury in 2018 late in the season with the Seahawks which landed him on the injured reserve.’
Bills’ Josh Allen makes sure two young fans don’t leave training camp empty-handed (Watch)
‘The look of disbelief on the face of the first boy tells the entire story.’
Bills Camp: Rookie running back continues to shine, Allen shows why he’s beloved, other Day 3 observations
‘The Bills’ offense struggled to find consistency on Day 3, as it was again outshined by the defense, which asserted itself as the most impressive unit of the morning. Buffalo offensive lineman Rodger Saffold remained sidelined with a rib injury, while wide receivers Jamison Crowder and Jake Kumerow were held out of practice due to muscle tightness.’
Jamestown’s Stephen Carlson Works Out For Bills, Still In Search Of Team
‘The workout comes as the 6-foot-4, 250-pound Carlson attempts to return to the NFL after not being tendered by Cleveland earlier this year. The former Jamestown High School star tore his ACL last August against Jacksonville and missed all of the 2021 season. Signed by the Browns as an undrafted free agent in April 2019 out of Princeton University, Carlson played in all 16 games in 2020, including two starts. He caught only one pass for 11 yards, but was a key contributor on special teams where he made nine tackles.’
NFL Training Camp Tour: Bills’ Only Hole Might be at Punter
‘Corner is a spot to watch. Veteran Dane Jackson and first-round pick Kaiir Elam are running with the first team. How they play could wind up being important, with Tre’Davious White on PUP recovering from torn ACL, and not a sure thing to be back for Week 1. After White does return, either Jackson or Kaiir will likely end up bookending him at the position.’
Aggressive defense highlights Day 3 of Bills training camp
‘While I would say the defense had a better day overall, the offense still had their share of highlights and big plays.’
Dorms and college roots are helping Bills create off the field chemistry
‘Veterans mixing with younger players. Having an atmosphere where everyone is in one spot. It’s almost pushing the players to come together now. That’s saying something, because this is already an incredibly tight knit group to begin with.’
2022 Buffalo Bills Training Camp Diary: highlights and insights from Day Three
‘On the injury front, wide receivers Jamison Crowder and Jake Kumerow did not practice. Both have general tightness/soreness and are considered day-to-day.’
‘Turkey burger time’ is an unexpected storyline as Buffalo Bills training camp begins
‘Sports Director Matt Bove went into the dining hall to find the man responsible for the prestigious patties. His name is Joel and he has been serving up award-winning food at SJFU for more than a decade..’
Bills LB Tremaine Edmunds approaching contract year no different than seasons past
‘“I got the same mindset every year and that’s just to be the best player that I can be. I put in good work this offseason, trusting what I done, trusting the work that’s been put in and just relying on my brothers out here. Every day I come out here I don’t even think about that stuff because I’m having fun and when you’re having fun you kind of put that in the back of your head and just worry about the task at hand,” Edmunds said after practice on Tuesday.’
Josh Allen signs own cleats for fans without Bills gear
‘Allen, the Bills’ fifth-year quarterback, has enjoyed a great relationship with fans since being drafted seventh overall in 2018. Fans have donated millions to Buffalo’s Oishei Children’s Hospital in honor of Allen’s late grandmother, Patricia, and a wing at the hospital was named after her in 2021. Allen visited the hospital last week her to see the latest updates, which included new x-ray equipment in the pediatric trauma bay.’
