‘Allen played with PGA golfer Keith Mitchell and the tandem finished -15 after three rounds, unfortunately the guys missed the cut. PGA golfer Taylor Moore and Kyle Adams, President of RKA Investments LLC, won the team title with a score of -33. Regardless of the result, Allen enjoyed the opportunity to hit the links.’

Phillips shares reflections on coaching days

‘“We had given up a first-round pick for Rob Johnson and he and (Doug) Flutie had played back-and-forth some. We wanted to rest Flutie the last game of the year, we were already in the playoffs and were going to play Tennessee no matter what. So we played Rob in the last game and he played great. We were going to play the playoff game (with Flutie) but Ralph (Wilson, team owner) called me and said, ‘Hey, we’re playing Rob Johnson.’ We’d won all these games (with Flutie) but he said, ‘I don’t care, we gave up a first-round pick’ and blah-blah-blah. I will say this, that (loss) wasn’t Rob’s fault … we were ahead with only 15 seconds left in the game. It wasn’t like Rob played so bad we couldn’t win.”’

‘“It’s a big part of it, at least for us,” Terrance Gray, the Bills’ assistant director of player personnel, said after Wednesday’s practices in Mobile. “When you draft them, they come into your building and you’re adding them to your culture. So it is a big part of what we do, sitting down in one-on-one interaction. It’s not always all football. We want to get to know the individual, their background, what makes them tick, what motivates them. Obviously, you get to some football elements. You try to find out their football IQ, how well they understand the game.”’
