‘To say that this game, and this outcome, were long-awaited would be an understatement. No team has given the Bills more grief in the last 20 years than the Patriots, a team that won the A.F.C. East 16 times during that span. That run of success overlapped with a big chunk of the Bills’ 17-year playoff drought that ended in 2017.’

‘But the Bills aren’t really who they seem to be on paper, a sleepy third seed in the AFC behind Tennessee and Kansas City. ‘After Patriots wideout Kendrick Bourne caught a third-quarter touchdown from Mac Jones, a fan launched and fired. The object flew right by Bourne and landed in the corner of the end zone, where the incredulous receiver pointed to it and was caught by CBS cameras.’
