‘“Damn right, I’m a sore loser,” safety Micah Hyde said one day earlier. “Show me a sore loser, and I’m going to show you a winner. Like, we want to win. Everybody in this locker room should be, in the end, a sore loser.”’

PlayAction: Bills face mission improbable in speeding up Tom Brady
‘The Bucs have allowed the fewest sacks in the NFL (15), and Brady has the most attempts of any QB (42 a game). Buffalo’s Josh Allen has been sacked 19 times on 36 attempts a game, which makes him the fourth hardest to sack QB in the league.’
Bills’ Jaquan Johnson, Dane Jackson join underprivileged kids for Christmas shopping spree
‘“Just growing up in a big household, my mom and dad worked really hard to make ends meet, and they did and they raised us the way that they could,” Johnson, the middle child of seven siblings, said while roaming the store aisles. “But every opportunity we had to go to events at the church and the park or when trucks came outside of our community to give back, we were one of the first in line. And I just got used to that. I figured that was a way of people giving back and helping the less fortunate, and I feel like I can do the same. I just want to be able to give them a gift and spark a light in them.”’
How we see it: News writers predict Bills vs. Tampa Bay Buccaneers
‘The Bills have gone all season without back-to-back losses, and they’ve alternated wins and losses the last eight games. However, part of that pattern had to do with the team on the other side, and now the Bills face their toughest opponent after a loss. Buffalo’s run defense has a lot of correcting to do, but that’s not as prominent an issue here: Tampa Bay’s 92.6 rushing yards per game ranks 25th in the league. Instead, Tom Brady and the Buccaneers’ offense are more likely to take to the air, and it’s worked out well. They’re first in passing yards (311.1) and points (31.4) per game. It’ll be a huge test for the Bills’ defense as a whole. Buffalo’s offense also needs to reestablish its identity. I think it’ll be close, but the Buccaneers will put together a more complete game. Tampa Bay, 31-27.’

Bills need to ‘score more points’ in Tampa Bay, Daboll says. Here’s why they haven’t been.
‘It’s clear by now that the Bills cannot run the ball with any efficiency. They’re banging their heads against the proverbial wall game after game, and that has put more pressure on Allen and the passing attack.’
Bills vs Buccaneers: Here’s what Sean McDermott and players are saying
‘“We’re extremely hungry,” he said. “I think there obviously is a sense of urgency of what we need to do. But there’s no panic in our locker room. We’re extremely united right now with what we need to do. We’ve had a couple of really good days of practice and walkthroughs and we’re looking forward to going out there and getting a chance to play against the defending world champs and arguably one of the greatest quarterbacks to ever play the game.”’
Bills’ Dawson Knox should bounce-back vs. Buccaneers as Buffalo looks to salvage season
‘The good news for Knox is that he’s facing a Buccaneers defense that has allowed 75 receptions for 700 yards and five touchdowns to tight ends this season. The 700 yards allowed to tight ends is the 10th most in the league. Only the Eagles (88) and Colts (82) have allowed more receptions to tight ends in 2021.’
Ritzel: Despite Monday night setback, Buffalo Bills belong outdoors
‘The lone benefit of playing indoors for Detroit and Minnesota? Those cities were gifted a single Super Bowl hosting gig — an occurrence that’ll never happen again, as the NFL has other options with warmer February climates that enhance the vibe around Super Bowl week.’

Brady, SB Champs Host Bills, Aiming For 4th Straight Win
‘The offense, at best, has been inconsistent after a strong start to the season. Josh Allen has thrown for nine touchdowns over the past five games, while also turning the ball over the same number of times with seven interceptions and two lost fumbles during the same stretch.’
Brady Faces Another Former AFC East Foe In Struggling Bills
‘Key matchup: Josh Allen and Buffalo’s struggling offense against a Tampa Bay defense that hasn’t been nearly as consistent as the Bucs feel they need to be to make another deep postseason run. The Bills’ struggles generally revolve around the team being overly dependent on its quarterback. Buffalo doesn’t have a rushing TD in the past three games. Meanwhile, Allen has thrown nine TD passes while also turning over the ball nine times (seven interceptions, two lost fumbles) in his last five games.’

Bills ready for ‘a fun challenge’ in facing familiar foe Tom Brady
‘“I think he’s playing as good of football as I’ve seen him played and he’s played, as we know, really good football,” McDermott said. “Credit to him, credit to how they’re using him down there and where he is in his career.”’
