Midseason Report Card: Grading Bills’ key offensive contributors through the first half

‘Cody Ford: Grade: F. Analysis: Ford’s slide the wrong way on the depth chart was only stopped by injuries. He got another chance at Jacksonville, and proceeded to allow eight total pressures. For the season, Ford has allowed 22 total pressures, according to PFF. That’s the 10th most in the NFL, but Ford has played just 292 snaps. Of the nine players who have given up more pressures, Indianapolis’ Mark Glowinski is next in snaps played, with 451. The Bills have said all the right things about how Ford has responded to adversity, but at some point it becomes more about results on the field. He’s not been able to come close to living up to his draft status as a high second-round pick.’

‘As constructed, the line is underperforming, but it’s important to remember it’s never been stocked with Pro Bowlers, either. ‘Buffalo’s defense will be without Tremaine Edmunds but I still see the unit forcing a few turnovers on Mike White. Offensively, Spencer Brown brings stability to the OL which in turn helps the run game and keeps Josh Allen upright. Allen also benefits from the return of Dawson Knox. Knox helps open things up for the WRs in the offense and creates plenty of headaches for the Jets defense. When all is said and done, Buffalo doubles the Jets up.’

‘Moving forward, Buffalo needs to figure out a way to get some semblance of production from its running backs, and not just in garbage time when the Bills are salting away a victory. If this team is going to win big games down the stretch, Moss and fellow RB Devin Singletary must prove they can gain the tough yards, or it may be time to turn to RB Matt Breida, who has been a healthy scratch for much of the season.’

Bills at Jets how to watch: TV, streaming, odds, prediction as Mike White set to make third start

‘The Bills’ offense is going to score points, so Sunday’s game will likely come down to how many points the Jets’ offense can score against Buffalo’s formidable defense. White and the Jets’ offense are capable of putting together at least a few scoring drives against the Bills, but probably not enough to keep pace with Allen and the Bills’ offense. Expect a big game from Allen and receiver Stefon Diggs, who caught 20 passes during the Bills’ last three games.’
