‘The Bills take over the No. 1 spot after looking like the league’s top team over the past three weeks. They’ve outscored the Dolphins, Washington and the Texans by a combined 118-21 since their inexplicable opening loss to the Steelers, and they shut out Miami and Houston. They’re playing very well as they prepare to travel to Kansas City for this weekend’s rematch of last season’s AFC championship game won by the Chiefs.’

Four games in, Bills’ defense leads the NFL
‘And though both the Chiefs and Titans are off to stuttering 2-2 starts, they’re elite teams that figure to give Buffalo all it wants … especially on the road, where they each handled Buffalo a season ago.’
Upon Further Review: With Jaquan Johnson and Cam Lewis stepping in, Bills’ secondary doesn’t miss a beat
‘Playing behind Hyde and Poyer – who had a streak of making 60 consecutive starts before missing Sunday’s win because of an ankle injury – has meant Jaquan Johnson hasn’t had too many chances defensively, but the third-year veteran made the most of his opportunity against the Texans.’
What we learned from snap counts in Bills’ Week 4 win, game ball and more
‘Spencer Brown was busy in his first NFL start. The Buffalo Bills’ rookie offensive tackle played all 72 offensive snaps Sunday during his team’s 40-0 victory over the Houston Texans at Highmark Stadium. Brown made a good first impression on quarterback Josh Allen.’
Analysis: Buffalo Bills playing defensive line in waves like never before
‘Eight defensive linemen have seen at least 35% of the snaps through four games, the most in the past five seasons. Those eight all are getting between 56% and 36% of the snaps. The ninth defensive lineman, Harrison Phillips, has seen a decent amount of action, too, at 17%.’
Observations: Bills’ Matt Milano listed as day to day with hamstring injury
‘“We’d love to have him, for sure. He’s one of our best players, but if not, A.J. Klein and some other linebackers will step in and do a good job for us,” defensive coordinator Leslie Frazier said when asked about Milano specifically. “We’ll see how it goes as the week goes on, but we have tremendous confidence in our other linebackers that will get an opportunity if Matt’s not able to go.”’
Position grades: Spencer Brown passed first test with ease at tackle for Bills
‘Offensive line (4.5): The competition was not elite. Brown spent much of the day blocking Jacob Martin, a journeyman defensive end. He saw some of Charles Omenihu, a promising third-year player who can bull rush but is not much of a speed rusher. Nevertheless, Brown stayed in good balance most of the game. Omenihu pushed him back on a bull rush once, but Josh Allen stepped up and completed a 21-yard pass on the play.’
Jay Skurski: Cole Beasley says Bills fans booed him, but what’s he hoping to gain?
‘So let’s take Beasley at his word and concede some fans maybe are booing him. Should that come as a huge surprise? He’s in a stadium packed with 68,087 fans – all of whom have at least started their vaccination process. Or, they are at least supposed to have. It’s a good bet there are some fans who made it in who haven’t been vaccinated. Nevertheless, if 60-something thousand people have decided getting vaccinated is the right choice from them, it stands to reason that at least some of them may take issue with Beasley’s frequent posts questioning the vaccine.’
Erie County inspectors turn away 14 fans from Bills-Texans game; deputies escort 3
‘The county has the ability to check people’s vaccination status, with an individual’s permission, against the state vaccination database. That was done for 91 people who received additional vetting.’
Dawson Knox is becoming the tight end Buffalo Bills need; Milano’s injury is troublesome
‘I’ve been saying for months, whenever I’ve been asked about Knox, that he is the right man for the job in this offense because I felt there was still some untapped potential in that athletic 6-foot-4, 254-pound body. Four games into the season, Knox has proven me correct.’
Bills’ Matt Milano, Jordan Poyer and Taron Johnson all day-to-day heading into Chiefs game
‘Milano exited Sunday’s 40-0 win against the Houston Texans with a hamstring injury in the second quarter. The linebacker has played at an All-Pro level early in the season and would give the defense a significant boost if he were able to play on Sunday.’
Cole Beasley rips Bills fans for booing him over COVID vaccine stance
‘The tension between the wide receiver — who has said he is unvaccinated — and Bills fans grew on Monday when the NFL star aired his grievances on social media. In a series of tweets, he called out fans who booed him before asking for a photo or autograph in the same afternoon.’
Mark Cuban clashes with former Dallas Cowboy Cole Beasley on Twitter over NFL vaccine mandates
‘Beasley’s tweet sparked an avalanche of responses from pro and anti-vaccine voices. Amongst the tumult came a quote tweet from Cuban, who questioned the thinking behind the wide receiver’s decision to remain unvaccinated.’
After Beating Up On Backup QBs, Bills Brace For Mahomes
‘The Bills’ defense has allowed a combined 615 yards while generating 12 takeaways and 10 sacks in blanking two of its past three opponents, including a 35-0 win over Miami.’
Bills’ Cole Beasley calls out fans for booing over vaccine stance, gets in Twitter spat with Mark Cuban
‘The veteran wide receiver has been among the most outspoken players over the league’s stance on vaccination. Over the summer he released a series of tweets and put out a statement specifically taking issue with the NFL’s testing procedures for vaccinated and unvaccinated players and staff.’
