‘“My dad coaching me growing up, he never put too much pressure on me,” said Kumerow. “He always kept it cool and told me if this is what you like you can go ahead and do it, if you don’t we’ll figure something else out. He never pushed me too hard. I just always wanted to be like him and do what he did.”’

Mario Addison is ready to coach the rookies
‘”They’re what the team needs,” Addison added. “You know I’m here to coach those guys up and play my role.”‘
Insight on Bills training camp and new stadium talks
‘With a possible new stadium in the news, we spoke to training camp sponsor Greg Connors about what might happen in Orchard Park and the chances camp returns to St John Fisher College.’
Bills Sign OL Caleb Benenoch
‘His last game appearance came in 2019, when he appeared in a single game during a short stint with Detroit.’
Young talent injects excitement into Buffalo’s defensive line room
‘”So, looking up to [Rousseau] and seeing how he’s setting the edge, rushing, and using all his length, it’s tremendous,” Addison said. “He’s coming off the ball punching and the guy is barely getting out of his stance. I’m like, ‘Damn, we have long arms.’ You have to use those to your advantage. Both of those guys are very coachable, and they are going to be [tough players] in this league.”‘
How Mario Addison’s grief over loss of younger brother impacted his debut season with Bills
‘“In all honesty, it feels good really to be in front of you guys. When we was doing everything virtual, it was different. It was so different,” Addison said. “Even when I was doing meetings, I barely could hear you guys when y’all was talking. I know you guys probably couldn’t hear what I was saying as well. To be back in front of everybody, you know, to be able to really just touch each other and do everything normal – it ain’t all the way normal – but for what it’s worth, man, I’m loving it.”’
After praise from Aaron Rodgers, Jake Kumerow focuses on securing Bills’ roster spot
‘“His road has been rocky to this point. I can tell you this, though: When he left towards the end of the year last season, he was missed,” McDermott said Tuesday. “Just in the locker room, the vibe of the team, and so to have the chance to get him back here was a big opportunity for us.”’
Training camp observations: Bills RBs hit holes hard on first day in pads
‘The reality is in the modern NFL it’s harder to practice the run game than the pass game, given every team’s desire to avoid injuries. The choreography of the passing game can be practiced without full contact. There’s a lot of timing and choreography in the run game, too. But a big part of running success is imposing physical will on the opponent.’
Another Voice: Beasley’s search for ‘certainty’ distorts his vaccine views
‘No doctor can give a full answer on the pluses and minuses of the Covid vaccine. But that’s not a reason to give up. Beasley was an undrafted free agent who has made a long NFL career – thankfully, now with the Bills. He and Bills’ management have demonstrated through their joint success the ability to make good decisions in the face of uncertainty. Think of the Covid vaccine as providing us all with that same opportunity.’
Aaron Rodgers wishes he had Jake Kumerow back, but Bills are glad he’s with them
‘“Just in the locker room, the vibe of the team,” McDermott said, speaking about what was lost when Kumerow left. “Certain people get talked about a lot, right, like the head coach, the main positions – receiver, quarterback, middle linebacker, that’s what gets talked about. But there’s a lot of glue on this team that flies under the radar, guys that connect the team, guys that make us who we are, and I would say (Justin) Zimmer and Kumerow are a big part of that. So to have the chance to get him back here was a big opportunity for us.”’
Retired Buffalo Bills fan favorite Lorenzo Alexander lends helping hand at training camp
‘“I don’t want to coach, I told them that up front,” Lorenzo Alexander said with a smile Tuesday after lending some of his expertise to the team that last employed him in the NFL. “I love the game, I love the guys, but I love my kids and my wife more.”’
Micah Hyde picks off Josh Allen, Bills defense sets tone in 1st camp padded practice
‘The offense did make some plays and the offensive line made things tougher for the d-line to pressure Allen as much as it has in recent practices without the pads. Addison’s biggest moment came on a play near the end of 11-on-11 work and Allen actually had a completion to Stefon Diggs on the play. But Addison took rookie Spencer Brown to school, blowing by the youngster with a speed rip move and almost getting to Allen before he released the ball.’
Bills threatening to move to Austin amid Buffalo stadium talks
‘As the Bills’ organization, the state of New York and Erie County are in negotiations for a new facility, Pegula Sports and Entertainment made a $1.5 billion proposal for a new stadium and renovations to KeyBank Center – home of the Buffalo Sabres and Buffalo Bandits (NLL). While the proposed facility would be a county-owned venue, Pegula is requesting the entire project to be paid for by taxpayer money.’
Bills finally able to get physical at camp
‘Obada stood out specifically on Tuesday. In addition to the deflected pass that caused an incompletion, he also had one play that may have resulted in a sack, and another that forced Allen to step up and get rid of the ball much quicker than he wanted.’
Mario Addison has had to work through tragedy the past few years
‘“Last year, my mental part wasn’t all the way there,” Addison said following Tuesday’s practice session in Orchard Park. “The year before, my baby brother got killed and it was heavy on me. Let’s be honest, my mind was on football, but it wasn’t on football. I was letting it control me.”’
