‘The Bills defense created a difficult afternoon for Andy Dalton, who started the entire first half under center for the Bears.’

Trubisky leads Bills to rout of Bears
‘The Bills got outstanding contributions from a number of players on offense, including Devin Singletary, Isaiah McKenzie, Jacob Hollister and Reggie Gilliam. The special teams were also phenomenal, capped off with rookie Marquez Stevenson returning a punt for a touchdown.’
Bills rout Bears in second preseason game
‘Dueling short-run touchdowns by fullback Reggie Gilliam and two field goals from kicker Tyler Bass had Buffalo up 34-6 at halftime.’
‘I just wanted to play well’ | Mitch Trubisky shows control of Bills offense in return to Chicago
‘”I just wanted to play well,” Trubisky said. “I think it’s just important for me to come out here and play well and keep getting better week to week. And I knew people would be talking about it and hyping it up, but it was just important for me to come out here and do my job and show my teammates that I could play ball.”‘
Top 3 things we learned from Bills at Bears | Preseason Week 2
‘Buffalo’s offense finished each of their first four possessions with touchdowns as Trubisky looked sharp in his second preseason start. But their execution went much further than just the offensive side of the ball. The Bills defense stymied Chicago’s run game in the first half, allowing just 1.6 yards per carry.’
After rocky four years with Bears, Mitchell Trubisky ‘getting that love for the game back’ with Bills
‘“There definitely is (pressure) when you’re drafted No. 2 overall,” Trubisky said. “I mean, I only started one year at North Carolina, but I played in a lot of games and you’re playing in one of the biggest markets in the country, and it’s a tough football town. I went out there and won games, I continued to get better, and I’m just happy to be right where I am now. People are always going to have something to say about your journey and what everything goes to, but not everybody could have done what I did, and I’m proud of where I’m at now. I’m just ready to continue to embrace the process and embrace this team and be a part of a great organization. I believe I am where I am now for a reason and you just got to believe that and continue to move forward and get better.”’
Five things to watch in Buffalo Bills’ second preseason game against Chicago Bears
‘Dion Dawkins’ snap count. The story of the week coming out of training camp centered on Dawkins recounting his harrowing experience with Covid-19. The gregarious left tackle was hospitalized for four days, during which he conceded he wasn’t sure if he would make it out. Thankfully, Dawkins’ condition has improved to the point he’s been back at practice. Coach Sean McDermott said Dawkins continues to make strides in his recovery, and the next step will be to get some snaps in a real game. McDermott said Dawkins will play against the Bears, but it remains to be seen how much. The Bills absolutely need Dawkins healthy in the regular season – entrusting rookie Spencer Brown to protect Josh Allen’s blind side is risky – so any work he gets against the Bears is another step in the right direction.’
How to watch Bills at Bears preseason Week 2 (TV channel, time, live stream information)
‘In addition to Trubisky’s battle against his former team, Saturday’s matchup will feature the preseason debuts of left tackle Dion Dawkins and running back Zack Moss. After making significant progress in his return from COVID-19, Dawkins will get the start at left tackle. His performance against the Bears could play in a role in whether or not the Bills play Josh Allen in the team’s preseason finale against the Packers. Moss, one of the Bills’ lead backs, will return from a hamstring injury that kept him out of the team’s first preseason matchup against the Lions.’
Five takes: Bills head to Chicago to take on the Bears for potential ‘Revenge Game’ for Trubisky
‘The Bears haven’t exactly been a quarterback factory throughout their franchise’s history. It’s somewhat crazy to think that Trubisky finished his four years in Chicago with a plus-500 record, a Pro Bowl appearance and two playoff starts before he was quickly kicked to the curb by a team that one could argue hasn’t developed a true franchise quarterback since Sid Luckman in the 1940s.’
Kumerow: I’m always trying to be ‘humble and hungry’
‘”It’s kind of a mindset we use here as a team: Be hungry and humble. That’s kind of how I take my career. Whether I’m with a new team, in a new town, new place, coming from college to the NFL, I’m always trying to stay hungry, try to always earn my spot and never taking anything for granted. And then you’ve got to stay humble too. You’ve got to make sure that you’re out there working hard and being a good teammate. Football is a lot of fun for me, so I just enjoy being out there and doing my thing wherever I’m at.”‘
Wilkinson: ‘Pegulas would love to do what it takes to keep the Bills in Buffalo’
‘”The Pegulas have made a proposal. They would like to build [the stadium] right there [in Orchard Park], and we need to hear back. You can’t really do plans and designs on things until you have a deal. Right now, the City of Buffalo and the state are going to have to decide if they want a team.”‘
Mitchell Trubisky “looking forward” to preseason start against Bears
‘”You could kind of see that [the Bears] were just continuously believing in me less and less,” Trubisky said. “The game feels a lot more pure now than it did the last couple years. It feels a lot more fun and I’m getting that love for the game back.”‘

Inside the Bills: Why Josh Allen thinks Shea Tierney is the franchise’s ‘most underpaid’ employee
‘In the time that has followed, Tierney has become an indispensable part of the Bills’ coaching staff – even if he’s not a household name. On the day star quarterback Josh Allen signed his massive contract extension, he thanked Tierney by name.’
Observations: Josh Allen, Stefon Diggs will not play in Bills’ second preseason game against Bears
‘“We do plan, but at the same time you always want to keep a watchful eye on the pulse and the vibe of the team,” McDermott said. “Where those guys are, how we’ve been practicing, the health of the overall team, health by position, so all those things factor into it where you sometimes just have to make in-course adjustments if you will, so that’s why I want to continue to take a moment at a time.”’
