‘As a rookie, Epenesa missed out on valuable reps with his teammates leading up to the season due to the COVID-19 pandemic so his contributions out of the gate were limited. In his first eight games with the Bills, Epenesa only saw 20-plus snaps on defense two times. Following the team’s bye week, however, Epenesa saw his snaps increase. Part of the increase in Epenesa’s snap count had to do with his comfort in the system. The other reason his play increased is due to the fact that Epenesa was showing more explosiveness due to dropping down to about 260 pounds.’
