‘The biggest knock on Samuel, and why some draft prognosticators see him being available at the bottom of the first round or in the second, is his lack of ideal size. He stands 5-foot-10 and weighs 180 pounds.’

Once the draft is done, Bills GM Brandon Beane must decide on Allen, Edmunds options
‘The cost of doing so would mean they will lock in a 2022 salary of $23.1 million for Allen and $12.7 million for Edmunds, and Beane admitted Tuesday during a conference call with reporters that that’s a lot of capital to tie up in two players.’
Alabama’s Najee Harris could be a fit for the Bills with the No. 30 pick
‘NFL scouts, personnel directors and general managers have to decide whether they believe Harris can become the next Henry (who was actually a second-round pick in 2016), Alexander or Ingram, or is he going to be the next underwhelming player like Richardson, T.J. Yeldon (second round 2015) or Bobby Humphrey (first round, No. 3 overall in 1989).’

‘According to Tony Pauline of Pro Football Network, Buffalo and Tampa Bay are both looking at defensive tackles. The two names being considered are Alabama’s Christian Barmore and Washington’s Levi Onwuzurike.’
Bills GM Brandon Beane ‘wouldn’t hesitate’ to take running back at 30 – Here’s why
‘“What does his skill set have in comparison to what we have on the roster?” Beane said. “Is this player going to do something … I don’t think either one of our backs are home run hitters, so is there an elite trait that this guy has and says, ‘Man, he’s got something we don’t have.’ That’s probably the conversation, versus, ‘OK, are we going to take the same type of back as Devin, are we gonna take the same type of back Zack? Because even those two guys have different skill sets.”’
NFL Draft: Bills linked to several edge rushers at No. 30; One analyst projects ‘Bama RB to Buffalo
‘Buffalo has a few needs entering this year’s draft, including at edge rusher, defensive back, offensive line and a couple of other positions. With several additions made in the offseason, including veteran wide receiver Emmanuel Sanders, tight end Jacob Hollister and running back Matt Breida, the Bills continued to bolster their offensive skill positions and will likely be looking defense-first come next Thursday night.’
Buffalo Bills GM: ‘No rush’ on extension for QB Josh Allen despite mutual interest
‘”There’s no rush, we’ll have some kind of conversation,” Beane said. “Listen, we would love to get Josh extended. No doubt. It has to be a number that works for him and works for us. That’s been my conversation with them and they know the same. We’re all on the same page. Josh wants to be here.”‘
Beane leaves door open for all scenarios with pick No. 30
‘“If there’s a guy on our board, hypothetically, 10 spots away, at 20, and we’re going, ‘Man, this guy really fits us. He’s everything we want. He’s going to make a big impact now and long-term,’ you have to talk about it, and of course see what it costs,” general manager Brandon Beane told reporters via a Zoom conference call on Tuesday. “Then, obviously, you’d have to have a team willing to make that move with you.”’
Bills GM says the team would love to get QB Josh Allen extended
‘”Listen, we would love to get Josh extended, no doubt, but it’s got to be a number that works for him and works for us,” Beane said Tuesday.’
4 Notable Quotes: Brandon Beane on trading up in the 1st round, Josh Allen’s fifth-year option and more
‘The hardest part, we met with the doctors last night and the medical is nowhere near where it usually is. Our doctors usually have a very good feeling on all the guys that go to Indy. The loops that were trying to close at this point are non-combine guys and just trying to call their schools and get data. This year 140 guys ended up going to Indy and some of those guys got out of there without images and things like that. Some of us are calling those schools, the people are doing their due diligence on it and just trying to put two and two together. That’s probably my biggest angst is some unknown medical. You don’t wanna take a guy high and all of the sudden you bring them in here and you’re going man I don’t know how well this guy is going to stay on the field for us.’
When to pay Josh Allen: Bills GM Brandon Beane says it will have to wait through next week
‘Beane said he has spoken with Allen and has ‘had one conversation’ with one of his representatives.’
Beane leaves door open to draft another running back
‘The Bills have spent third rounds picks the last two drafts on running backs. Devin Singletary and Zack Moss have performed adequately as part of an offense that has rapidly turned pass happy the past two seasons. Even Beane admitted there are things Singletary and Moss lack.’
Brandon Beane on Buffalo’s approach to the Draft
‘Beane spoke for nearly 45 minutes about what he expects from next week’s big event and how Buffalo is preparing.’
5 things we learned from GM Brandon Beane’s pre-draft press conference
‘”In theory, you’re picking at the top of next round,” Beane explained. “We’re three picks away from the top of the second round. So a lot of times when you’re coming to the end of the round, we’re either going to be picking at the bottom of one or picking out of the second round, just depending on how it falls.”‘
Bills Today | Buffalo’s in position to draft the best player available
‘”I mean, it helps,” Beane stated. “The goal is to try and fill as many spots as we can so that we’re not going into this draft with a void somewhere. If we hadn’t been able to sign those guys and if they left and we didn’t find proper replacements, it’s not fun going into the draft going, ‘Man we can’t get out of day two without this player.’ It puts a lot of pressure on you, and sometimes you’re reaching a little bit. It can happen because sometimes you lose a free agent and you’re not able to find the right guy in free agency for whatever reason. So, I’ve seen it happen, but very glad to get those guys back and it does help open the board up to us not having to select for need.”‘
