Canandiagua’s Poles helped build Chiefs, respects Bills
‘But after a summer with the Chicago Bears that ended in his release, Poles focused on helping to build a team, not trying to play for one. In Kansas City he has moved all the way up to Assistant Director of Player Personnel.’
5 questions to consider as the Bills head into the 2021 offseason
‘Buffalo must determine how much of their cap space they must devote to improving the roster for 2021 while also assessing whether an extension can be reached with the Allen camp that is cap friendly on the front end, much like the deal signed by Chiefs QB Patrick Mahomes in 2020.’
A champion for Buffalo | Josh Norman distributes $500,000 to local businesses
‘In a press conference on Friday at the West Side Bazaar, Norman, alongside Shatorah Donavan, the Chief Diversity Officer for the city of Buffalo, and Carolyn Welch, the executive director of the Westminster Economic Development Initiative (WEDI), announced that the Buffalo Business Blitz initiative raised approximately $500,000 to help over 200 local businesses.’
Recollections of the Bills’ first Super Bowl
‘And though in the stadium, I never saw Scott Norwood’s 47-yard field goal attempt slip 18 inches wide of the right upright in person. At the two-minute warning, Larry Felser of the Buffalo News and I headed for the Buffalo locker room. We stopped at a TV stationed outside the door and at first thought Scott’s attempt would hook a bit left, which it usually did. But not this time.’
Inside the Bills: How Buffalo’s roster stacks up against the Super Bowl teams
‘Here is how the teams rank at each position…’
Stefon Diggs puts in a plug for Josh Allen as MVP
‘Diggs said the bond he formed with Allen was like something that he had not experienced. He said he and Allen have a “like-minded personality,” describing Allen as “charismatic and playful.”‘
X’s and O’s column: Can Tampa Bay front four exploit matchup edge?
‘The Chiefs will move Mike Remmers from right tackle to left tackle, and shift guard Andrew Wylie to right tackle. Remmers is a pro’s pro, with 97 career starts, but he hasn’t started at left tackle since 2016. Remmers was only OK against the Bills on January 24. He gave up three sacks to Von Miller in Super Bowl 50 in 2016 (obviously, under different circumstances). Wylie is a former undrafted free agent who has the size to play tackle at 6-foot-6 and 309 pounds. But 38 of his 39 starts have come at guard.’
Production doesn’t add up for high-priced Bills defensive line
‘It’s not necessarily about sacks but more so, applying pressure on the passer and getting him to either move off his desired spot in the pocket or force him to throw the ball before a play has fully developed, both of which often lead to a successful outcome for the defense.’
Where Bills pick in the 2021 NFL Draft | How many picks they have
‘If the Bills make that selection at no. 30 it’ll be the latest the team has picked in a draft in franchise history going back to 1966. Buffalo owns seven picks in this year’s draft but are currently without a fourth-round selection because that pick went to the Minnesota Vikings in the Stefon Diggs trade last offseason.’
Stefon Diggs can relate to Deshaun Watson: ‘We don’t live in a shut up and play world anymore’
‘“We don’t live in a shut up and play world anymore. Not at all, in no way, shape or form,” Diggs said. “People (are) realizing their power and players (are) understanding how much they mean. They just want to have a say in the things that take place. This is our life, this is our career, and we take it pretty serious. I don’t really know the ins and outs of Deshaun Watson’s situation, but he’s obviously upset for a good reason. It’s not for no reason.”’
Bills’ Stefon Diggs makes Super Bowl pick: ‘My favorite player is Tom Brady’
‘“This is tough,” Diggs said in his interview with Stephen A. Smith, Max Kellerman and Molly Qerim Rose. “I recall the last game was 27-24. Tyreek Hill had a huge first half and Tampa Bay got things rolling a little bit going into the second half. It’s going to be a tough game. Patrick Mahomes is playing some unbelievable football. I haven’t seen nothing like it. They’re finding ways to win. They have a good relationship, him and Andy Reid and all the weapons. But my favorite player is Tom Brady so I’m gonna go with Tampa.”’
Watch: Bills’ Josh Allen takes on Fortnite Streamer Bowl II (5 things we learned)
‘According to Allen, he was caught holding his beer in the wrong hand. It’s part of a game that he has played–likely with teammates–where if you are caught holding a beer in the wrong hand someone can say “Buffalo” which forces you to down the remainder of the can. Someone texted Allen with the message and he followed through with the rules.’
Bills CFO reveals intense inner workings of a Super Bowl team
‘ “If you win the Super Bowl, your players are now the most desired players in the NFL,” said Littmann. “Other teams want that feeling in the locker room and the leadership from the men that made it happen. Your guys are now worth more than they were the season before. Being the best team in the league, you now get last pick in each round of the draft. It’s a hard place to stay once you’ve gotten there. The reward for good work is more work.”’
Opinion: 2021 State of the Bills: Wide receiver
‘Things are a lot more fuzzy when it comes to Brown, mainly due to his contract and injury concerns.’
