‘“Me and him have a special bond because it’s his first head-coaching job and he picked me to be his first pick to try and come in and try and turn this thing around,” White said. “He hand-picked me. I don’t take that lightly. I’m going to continue to try to make them proud and make them right, him and Brandon Beane.”’

X’s and O’s: Patriots have a heavy lift, starting with QB, after season
‘The Pats will pick about 15th in the draft. There probably will be five teams picking ahead of the Pats that need a quarterback (Jets, Jaguars, Panthers, Falcons and Niners) and maybe six (Bears). It’s early to forecast. Clemson’s Trevor Lawrence and Ohio State’s Justin Fields seem sure to go 1-2. North Dakota State’s Trey Lance and BYU’s Zach Wilson are good bets for the top 10. That leaves Alabama’s Mac Jones and Florida’s Kyle Trask as candidates for No. 15. Maybe. Neither one of them is as good a prospect as Buffalo’s Josh Allen or Miami’s Tua Tagovailoa. The other option is to land a veteran castoff, like the Niners’ Jimmy Garoppolo. Bills Mafia wouldn’t lose sleep over Jimmy G.’
The Editorial Board: Bills, Erie County should embrace plan to let spectators into home playoff game
‘Critics say it is unfair for Cuomo to lift restrictions on the Bills while many businesses stay shuttered under the state’s orange zone rules. But this experiment in allowing less than 10% of the stadium to be occupied is an acknowledgment that when the data supports ways to reopen things safely, the rules can evolve, as happened when the state changed orange zone regulations to let hair salons and gyms open with limited capacity. And this gathering of fans, too small to be called a “crowd,” will hardly add much to the bottom line of the Bills and the businesses that depend on them after eight fan-free home games.’
Bills defense would get big boost if Matt Milano can return to full-time duty
‘This has been a frustrating season for Milano, a fourth-year player who is scheduled to become an unrestricted free agent in March. Unlike fellow 2017 draft class members Tre’Davious White and Dion Dawkins, Milano was not offered a rich, multi-year contract extension. And then, when it came time to play and perhaps show the team that extending him would be a good idea, he was felled by injuries.’
After years of futility against the Patriots, the Bills seized their opportunity to take control of the AFC East
‘That’s why there can’t really be a beef with the Bills savoring their moment now. It’s a long time coming and hard-earned. The Patriots will have their moment again. In the meantime, let’s appreciate how they stretched their last one into a two-decade dynasty, the likes of which may never be seen again.’

Bills Today | Brett Favre gives Brian Daboll his endorsement
‘”He was my quarterbacks coach with the Jets and I really thought a lot of him,” said Favre. “I’ve bragged on him and his coaching abilities since then. I think he’s finally getting his due. He’s very creative and fun to work with and I’m sure Josh (Allen) has got to love playing for him. All that stuff adds up.”‘
