‘The simple answer is Josh Allen. The third-year quarterback has been great as of late and should be mentioned in the MVP discussion. It appears he’s processing the field better every single week and also reminded everyone on Saturday night that he is a true dual-threat quarterback. Allen also has developed strong chemistry with his top two wideouts, as Diggs caught 11 passes for 147 yards and Cole Beasley caught eight passes for 112 yards. Whether it’s acting as a game manager or taking shots downfield and picking up yards in big chunks, Allen does whatever is needed from him and he does it well.’

Bills’ Jerry Hughes makes five Broncos miss on his way to improbable scoop-and-score
‘When the Broncos took over for their first possession of the second half, Drew Lock was immediately strip-sacked by cornerback Tre’Davious White, and defensive end Jerry Hughes picked up the loose ball and returned it 21 yards to the end zone for the Bills’ second touchdown in 17 seconds! This wasn’t your typical scoop-and-score though, as Hughes made about five Broncos “defenders” miss on his way to the score.’
Bills’ Josh Allen was so good vs. Broncos, he had two TD passes called back on same drive
‘Allen’s first illegitimate touchdown was a 1-yard score to Lee Smith. Buffalo was pushed back 10 yards because of offensive pass interference by a lineman who’d reported as eligible. Two plays later, Allen found Isaiah McKenzie in the left flat before the speedy wideout scored from 7 yards out. That one didn’t count because of a penalty for an illegal formation.’
Bills clinch AFC East with win over Broncos
‘Josh Allen, Stefon Diggs and the Buffalo offense put up a season-high 48 points (with some help from the defense and Jerry Hughes), the most the Bills have scored in a game since 2010, and the defense shut down a young, promising Denver offense that has picked up some steam as the season has gone on.’
Bills rule the AFC East
‘What a great way to wrap up the first non New England east division championship since 2008, with a stress free game. Josh Allen and the Bills passing offense were just too much for a depleted Denver secondary to handle. Allen, who is playing at an MVP level, put on another show with wide receivers Stefon Diggs and Cole Beasley, both of whom topped 100 yards receiving.’
Opinion: Three Observations: It feels great to be AFC East Champions
‘The game was back-and-forth in the first half, despite the Bills being noticeably the better team. A muffed punt by Andre Roberts in the first half gave Denver a chance to get back in the game and hang with the Bills the whole way. But, Buffalo did a good job bouncing back from maybe the only negative play in the entire afternoon, and completely put Denver away in the second half.’
Opinion: Arrow Up/Arrow Down: Bills at Broncos
‘The Bills were playing their third game in 13 days, and on a short turnaround after playing on Sunday Night. They had to fly out west, and everyone in Western New York was talking about winning the AFC East title for the first time in 25 years. But McDermott kept his team focused and on task, playing a complete game in every phase to win comfortably.’
Party like it’s 1995! Bills dominate Broncos 48-19 to clinch AFC East title and playoff spot
‘The Bills kicked off the 2nd quarter with another touchdown drive after Allen kept it himself and took it in from 24 yards out to make it a 14-0 game. After another dominant outing by the Bills defense, the Bills special teams unit had a costly mistake. Andre Roberts muffed the punt on a fair catch and the Broncos recovered the ball. After a Broncos touchdown, the Bills offense got back to work. Allen found Jake Kumerow, the 13th Bills player to catch a touchdown this season, to extend their lead back to two scores. They led 21-13 at the half.’
AFC East champs! Bills clinch first division title since 1995
‘The last time the Bills won the division title was December 17th, 1995 after a 23-20 win over the Miami Dolphins in week 16 of the regular season. Steve Christie was the “star” of the game, hitting three field goals including the eventual game-winner.’
Bills defense continues the upward climb, add another touchdown to their recent dominance
‘A week after scoring their first defensive touchdown of the season, the Bills defense did it again. This time it was Jerry Hughes picking up a fumble [caused by Tre’Davious White] and taking it 25 yards to the end zone to extend the Bills’ lead in the 3rd quarter.’
Diggs and Beasley both surpass 100 yards as Bills’ air attack leads them in win over Broncos
‘”Our guys are doing a good job of getting open,” Allen said about his teammates. “It’s my job to give them a chance to catch the ball and they’ve been doing a really good job with that.”‘
“This team here, we’re on a mission. I can feel it”: Bills excited, but have bigger goal in mind
‘”This team here, we’re on a mission,” cornerback Tre’Davious White added. “I can feel it.”‘
Stefon Diggs sets Bills single-season record for catches
‘With another catch, Diggs will tie his personal record for catches in a season with 102.’
HISTORY! Bills clinch first AFC East title since 1995
‘Buffalo only allowed one more touchdown on defense, and scored two field goals and one late touchdown run by Devin Singletary to secure the 48-19 win.’
Jerry Hughes joins “defensive touchdown party”
‘“..it was a great play by Tre White to come on that blitz,” Hughes said. “…apparently Tre’s been watching some d-line film. We always talk about getting the ball away from the quarterback with that tomahawk chop and Tre’s was perfect, textbook so I figured if he made all that work, at least I could do was go ahead and put a little exclamation point on it.”’
