‘“John Mazur, our backfield coach, told me, ‘Don’t be offended by what I am going to say, but they’re going to think you playing quarterback is kind of a joke. So they’ll use three or four basic defenses.’ So Mazur devised four plays for each of the defenses I would see and told me to call a lot of audibles. I had a notebook with each of the plays and I took it everywhere with me. I read it when I was eating breakfast, lunch and dinner. I even took it with me when I went to the bathroom.”’
