‘But as the Bills embark on the home stretch of their season, there’s the reality that they’ve had trouble putting teams away.’

Analysis: Bills’ pass defense looks like old self in shutting down Keenan Allen
‘The Bills entirely took away the deep passing of rookie quarterback Justin Herbert – up until a 55-yard Hail Mary completion with 25 seconds left in the game.’
Upon Further Review: Playing ‘more free’ has unleashed Bills linebacker A.J. Klein
‘“Don’t tell him I’m saying this because he’s an Iowa State guy,” Hyde said of Klein, “but he’s one of the smartest players on our team. He’s like a coach out there. We call him ‘Coach Klein’ because he’s able to make adjustments, see things we’re talking about out there. He’s a great addition to our defense just because of what he’s able to do.”’
What we learned from Bills’ snap counts in Week 12 win, game ball and more
‘Devin Singletary made the most of his time – until the end. The second-year running back played a season-low 25 offensive snaps, but rushed 11 times for 82 yards. Singletary ran better than he has most of the season, but lost a fumble early in the fourth quarter that likely cut into his playing time. Singletary was outsnapped by rookie Zack Moss, 37 to 25, which is the biggest disparity between the two all season.’
Bills to play 49ers in Arizona in Week 13 and four more observations
‘”It doesn’t matter,” Bills coach Sean McDermott said. “I mean, wherever they tell us to play, that’s where we’ll go to play. We can’t control that and so it’s a home game for San Fran any way we look at it, and we’re the road team. That’s how we roll. We got to find a way. We’ve got plenty to work on here in between now and the game and that’s what we’re focused on.”‘
Position grades: Josh Allen keeps adding to his running credits
‘Allen was very good – except for a couple of plays on which he tried to do too much. One was when he tweaked his ankle trying to run a read option at Joey Bosa. Not a great idea. Another was when he tried to pick up a muffed snap instead of flopping on it. The interception for Stefon Diggs was thrown into double coverage, and Allen probably should have thrown it away. But the pressure was on him quickly. It was a tough play for the QB. Mostly, Allen expertly moved the chains. And his two, accurate deep passes – the one to Diggs that drew a pass interference and the one to Gabriel Davis – were big plays.’
Jim Kubiak: How Bills QB Josh Allen got Stefon Diggs involved, and about that late fumble
‘Allen’s overall quarterback performance grade was 90%, in spite of a scary-looking leg injury in the first half and back-to-back mishaps in the fourth quarter that could have swayed the outcome.’
Like the Bills victory, CBS broadcast was a little messy at times but entertaining
‘If you happened to catch the professional football contest on television Sunday between the Bills of Buffalo and the Chargers of Los Angeles it was a comedy of errors by the players, the officials, CBS’ graphic team and, yes, even the announcers at times.’
How A.J. Klein has turned his season around; and he was the Bills’ best player vs. Chargers
‘“I know what type of player that I am,” Klein said. “I know what to expect from myself, and I know what this defense expects from me. I hold myself to a high standard. So outside noise and whatever anybody else says about me really doesn’t faze me. I don’t look into stuff, I don’t read articles. I’m my own worst critic, so for me it’s just constant improvement and trying to look forward. I don’t have time to listen to outside noise. We’re on a mission here, and I’m just doing my best to accomplish that goal.”’
Bills to play 49ers on Monday at home of Cardinals, site of Hail Mary loss two weeks ago
‘The 49ers have essentially been chased out of their home facility in Santa Clara County in northern California because county officials have now banned “all recreational activities that involve physical contact or close proximity to persons outside one’s household.”’
Bills OC Brian Daboll: run/pass balance only important if it’s working
‘“We’re a week-to-week team. Balance is important if it’s working. If one of them (the run or the pass) is not working, then you better not have too much balance. You better do the other thing more,” Daboll said. “I thought the guys did a good job on the things that we worked hard on in the bye week. Credit goes to the players for executing that stuff.”’
Buffalo Bills’ battle-tested defense playing best football during stretch vs. NFL’s elite offenses
‘What was different this week was that the Bills showed another way they’re able to win games. Leaning on the run game and relying on a defense that’s struggled to play up to the standard it’s set the past two seasons.’
Bills will play in Arizona on Monday Night Football vs. 49ers
‘New Covid-19 restrictions were announced on Saturday by Santa Clara County banning all contact sports and placing a 14-day mandatory quarantine for anyone traveling into the area from 150 miles away. That mandate meant the 49ers would have to find a new home for the 2020 season and now are locked in to play those games in Arizona.’
Bills Have Had Their Share Of Hair-Raising 2nd-Half Moments
‘“Look at this,” he said with a grin while pulling off his Bills ballcap to begin rubbing his bald head. “I had a full head of hair when I met you, right?”’
Cole Beasley notches first career TD pass in Bills’ latest trick play
‘The nifty-looking trick play, which are increasingly becoming the calling card of offensive coordinator Brian Daboll, came early in the second quarter.’
