5 Bills Chargers storylines to watch Sunday
‘Morse went from starter and team leader to injured and then benched. Add in the fact that the head coach, on multiple occasions, made the point that the line was better without Morse at center. Then the dominoes fell when Cody Ford got hurt and Jon Feliciano was moved back to guard. McDermott did praise Morse’s professionalism in handling things, but can he jump right back in and command this offensive line?’

‘Santa Clara County officials announce Saturday both college and pro sports will not be able to practice or have games in their facilities due to COVID-19 precautions for the next three weeks.’

What Bills fans need to know about the 2020 AFC playoff race | Week 12
‘The Jets are winless, and the Dolphins were one of the league’s hottest teams prior to the mishap against the Broncos – a game they could have won if not for a late interception thrown by Ryan Fitzpatrick. Here’s to hoping the Jets are due.’
NFL analysts | Bills vs. Chargers game predictions | Week 12
‘It is expected to be 49 degrees and clear at game time in Orchard Park, N.Y., conditions that will keep the passing game in play and lead to a fairly entertaining shootout between Herbert and the Bills’ Josh Allen. Buffalo is likely to win, but the score should be closer than oddsmakers are predicting.’

Bills Today | Will two of the NFL’s top receivers put on a show in Buffalo?
‘”I’m gonna go with the guy who came into the week with the second-most receiving yards in the league, and that would be Stefon Diggs,” Wolfe said. “He averaged the third-most receiving yards per game at about 91 a clip and has over 90 over the past three games. I think that Keenan Allen is one of the most underrated wide receivers in the league but Stefon Diggs is Josh Allen’s dude. He hasn’t had fewer than eight targets since week four of the NFL season. Plus, [today] is Stefon Diggs birthday, so I think he’s gonna go off, happy early birthday Stefon.”‘
Chargers, Herbert will give Bills a test
‘Buffalo is scoring an average of 27 points per game and giving up an equal number while L.A. is scoring at a 26-point rate and also giving up 27.’
Take Five: Bills can’t let loss vs. Cardinals interfere with preparing for Chargers
‘“In our league, you have to be able to move on,” defensive coordinator Leslie Frazier told reporters on a video call earlier in the week. “Whether we would have won that game, or, in this case, we didn’t come away with the win, you have to be able to move on. Seven wins or eight wins don’t get you a whole lot in the National Football League, so for our guys, it’s all about moving on from that game and put all our attention and focus on the L.A. Chargers. Period.”’
Bills guard Cody Ford out for season, receiver John Brown out for Sunday
‘”Thank you #BillsMafia for the love and support,” Ford tweeted Friday afternoon. “I’ll be back and better in no time. Excited to watch the team continue great things this season.”‘
Injuries continue to hinder Bills as Sean McDermott says Cody Ford is out for season
‘Ford has battled knee and ankle injuries this season and he had played in only one of the last four games, 14 snaps against Seattle before getting hurt and having to come out. However, it seemed he had a chance to return to the lineup before this season-ending setback.’
Bills injury update: Cody Ford out for the season, John Brown won’t play vs. Chargers
‘With Ford out for the year, McDermott wouldn’t reveal the plan at left guard for Sunday’s game. He did announce that center Mitch Morse will return to his role as the team’s starter in the middle. That means the Jon Feliciano will play on one side and where he plays will likely determine who gets the start on Sunday. If he’s at right guard the Bills have liked what Ike Boettger has showed on the left side in a few starts. If Feliciano starts on the left side it’s likely going to be veteran Brian Winters, who has started eight games in that spot this season.’
OL Ford out for season as Bills get set to take on Herbert, Chargers
‘Ford missed Buffalo’s loss to Arizona due to an ankle injury but participated on a limited basis early this week before reportedly tearing his meniscus during practice. Ford’s injury will place him on the season-ending injured reserve, and, according to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport, will require surgery and a 3-4 month rehab. The former second-round pick is expected to make a full recovery, per Rapoport.’
