‘After the Bills’ fumble recovery and a subsequent touchdown, which gave them a 14-point lead midway through the third, it quickly went downhill. The Cardinals responded with a touchdown on the ensuing drive, then the Bills’ next possession ended on a shanked punt from Corey Bojorquez that traveled only 12 yards and provided Arizona with excellent field position, which they converted into a field goal. On the drive following the field goal, Josh Allen threw the first of his two interceptions, which led to an Arizona touchdown, and when the dust cleared, it was suddenly 26-23 Cardinals with 8 seconds left in the third quarter.’

Sullivan: No moral victories for Bills in heartbreaking loss
‘Then it happened again. The Bills lost a game in a fashion so bizarre and unlikely that it had to revive the fatalistic impulses of long-suffering fans, leaving them to wonder if things will ever truly change.’

Hail Murray: Cardinals Stun Bills 32-30 In Final Seconds
‘“Yeah, I thought we guarded it pretty well,” Bills safety Jordan Poyer said. “We had three people around him . … It’s really not a whole lot of anything else to say, just got to find a way to get that ball out of his hands some way, somehow.”’
Bills Baffled, Bitter After Hopkins’ Last-Second TD Catch
‘“I’ve kind of been on both sides of the spectrum here in Arizona,” said Hyde, who played for the Packers from 2013-16. “And this one doesn’t feel good.”’
QB Josh Allen catches TD pass as Bills get tricky to take early lead
‘After faking a jet sweep to Isaiah McKenzie on first-and-10 from the Cardinals’ 14-yard line, the Bills ran the exact same play on second down — or so it seemed.’
Cardinals vs. Bills score: DeAndre Hopkins delivers unbelievable game-winning catch from Kyler Murray
‘Instead, they allowed Allen to throw 49 times on the road — against an opportunistic secondary, no less — and must now live with the consequences. This was a loss that didn’t have to happen to Buffalo, but in several ways, they earned it.’
DeAndre Hopkins’ mind-blowing Hail Mary catch from Kyler Murray stuns Bills, NFL world
‘On the deciding play, Murray rolled left before sending the ball skyward, a pass not unlike the ones Russell Wilson throws that Cris Collinsworth has dubbed “moon balls.” Waiting in the end zone was Hopkins, ready to justify the already-questionable cost for his trade and really stick a knife in Texans’ fans hearts after Houston lost 10-7 to the Browns earlier Sunday. And much like Calvin Johnson once did for the Lions, Hopkins hopped higher than everyone else and came down with the football.’
Bills fall to Cardinals on Hopkins’ last-second TD
‘The Buffalo defense did a good job limiting Arizona’s high-powered offense in the first half, holding them to three field goals despite the Cardinals getting inside the Bills’ 25-yard line on each of those drives. However, it was a totally different story in the second half, as a 17-point third quarter that featured a pair of rushing scores from Murray, pushed the Cardinals ahead going into the final frame.’
Opinion: Three observations: Another poor third quarter hurts Bills in loss
‘There is a lot Buffalo can take away from this game, positive and negative. The Bills played a great first half and did a good job controlling Murray and limiting the high-powered Arizona offense. But, another sluggish third quarter, a trend for Buffalo this season, put the Bills in a hole heading into the fourth, and Stefon Diggs’ 21-yard go-ahead touchdown catch with 34 seconds to go wasn’t enough to seal the victory.’
Opinion: With a competitive team, comes the possibility of heartbreak
‘As much as the offense has carried the torch this season, they hold a heavy portion of the blame when it comes to their failures because of their inability to execute in the third quarter. Currently, it’s the single biggest roadblock this team faces in their quest to an AFC East title and potentially an AFC Championship. If the offense can find a way to push aside their third quarter struggles and put together a full four quarter performance, the Bills might really be the biggest threat to the Kansas City Chiefs.’
Opinion: Arrow Up/Arrow Down: Bills at Cardinals
‘As good as Allen was at the start and end, there was a lot to inconsistency and bad passes in the middle. Twice he threw the ball into the arms of Cardinals CB Patrick Peterson, but Peterson didn’t hold on for the interception. But then Peterson did grab one, and so did Dre Kirkpatrick, both on badly thrown Allen passes. In the second and third quarters, Allen combined to go 13-for-23 for 108 yards, 1 TD and 1 INT.’
Bills fall short to Cardinals 32-30 in wild finish
‘But the Bills’ struggles against the running game in the first half were amplified in the second half. In Kenyan Drake’s first game back for Arizona in three weeks, he ran for over 100 yards. Quarterback Kyler Murray also ran for two scores.’
Bills forging ahead after last-second loss with bye week on the horizon
‘”We’re pros. And we understand that there’s going to be a winner and there’s going to be a loser,” left tackle Dion Dawkins said. “The good thing is that this wasn’t the Super Bowl and we have plenty more games to play.”‘
“Gut Punch”: Bills players react to Sunday night’s Hail Mary play
‘”Nervousness? No. But it’s a 60 minute game,” left tackle Dion Dawkins said. “Until that clock shows zeroes, it isn’t over. And [the Cardinals] clearly showed that today.”‘
