‘In a statement game, Allen outdueled Russell Wilson. That is a major statement of its own.’

Bills vs. Seahawks Inactives: Dawson Knox returns, Harrison Phillips a healthy scratch
‘Phillips goes back to being a healthy scratch for Buffalo with Vernon Butler back in the lineup. Smith returns to Buffalo’s inactive list with Dawson Knox returning to the lineup. Knox’s athleticism could benefit Buffalo in today’s matchup.’
Five takeaways: Allen shines, defense forces four turnovers as Bills earn signature win over Seahawks
‘The Bills passed the ball 38 times and ran it 20 times, but many of those carries came late in the second half when Buffalo had the game in hand. The heavy reliance on the passing game put a heavy burden on Allen, but he came through with what was perhaps the best performance of his young career.’
Sullivan: Bills answer lingering questions with statement against Seattle
‘It wasn’t just that they beat a Seattle team that has been among the league’s elite for a decade and entered with the best record in the NFC. It was the way they attacked from the start on both sides of the football, playing the aggressor and forcing their will on the Seahawks.’

Bills QB Allen sets record in big win day after his grandmother dies
‘Allen showed his physical toughness by not throwing any balls into enemy hands despite getting sacked seven times.’
Allen, Bills Torch Seahawks, Win 44-34 In Balmy Buffalo
‘Allen finished 31 of 38 and equaled a career best set earlier this season with 415 yards passing, becoming the first Bills player to top 300 yards four times in one season since Drew Bledsoe did it seven times in 2002. The Bills offense came alive after Allen combined for just 846 yards passing and five touchdowns — including one rushing — in splitting the previous four games.’
Dion Dawkins doesn’t want to compare 7-2 Buffalo Bills to Jim Kelly’s era: ‘They hold the crown’
‘”It really doesn’t mean anything. I don’t want to compare ourselves to Jim Kelly’s era, Thurman Thomas, like, those guys are legends,” he said. “We are far from them. They hold the crown. They are the kings. But it just shows we are capable of doing whatever we want to do. We have all of the pieces here. And we just have to continue to do things right on and off the field.’
NFL insider notes: Bills finally play up to competition, Panthers play another close one and more from Week 9
‘But the Bills figured it out Sunday to reclaim the accolades that they held after one month of this season. A Buffalo defense that had allowed opponents to convert more than half their third downs this season stopped Seattle on nine of their 12 attempts. They gave up just 3.4 rushing yards per attempt and tallied three second-half takeaways as the Seahawks tried to tighten the game.’
Buffalo Bills Make Big Statement In Victory Over Seattle Seahawks
‘This was the most complete game the Bills have played all season and perhaps turned more doubters into believers after such a convincing win against a Seahawks team that was atop the NFC West at 6-1 entering the game.’
Allen leads Bills to shootout victory over Seahawks
‘Josh Allen played, arguably, his best game of the season, and maybe one of the best of his career so far. The 24-year-old ended the day throwing for three touchdowns, running for another, and finishing with over 400 passing yards for the second time this season.’
Opinion: Allen outduels Wilson in offensive shootout
‘The shocking storyline from the Bills’ 44-34 win has to be the defensive effort. Getting to Wilson five times, getting four turnovers, holding them to 3-for-12 on third downs, and holding the D.K. Metcalf/Tyler Lockett duo to 148 yards and a score is a huge win for a Bills defensive unit struggling to find the success Bills fans have grown accustomed to during Sean McDermott’s first four seasons.’
Opinion: Three observations: Allen shines in win over Seattle
‘Getting a win over a competitive, talented and well-coached team, that’s a true contender in the NFC, should give this Bills team a huge boost. With the performances we saw from Allen, a fully-healthy John Brown and the defense, there could be a lot more to look forward to as we now hit the back half of the regular season.’
Opinion: Seahawks at Bills: Arrow Up/Arrow Down
‘Holy cow was Allen good in this one, especially in the first half. The Bills’ quarterback started incredibly hot and stayed that way for most of it, connecting on 13 of 15 first quarter passes, and 24 of 28 in the first half for 282 yards by halftime. He only threw ten passes in the second half, but still connected on seven of them to finish 31-for-38 (81.5%) for 415 yards and 3 TD passes. Allen added another 14 yards and one touchdown rushing, for a four TD day.’
Bills pass game takes advantage in 44-34 win over Seahawks
‘The Bills defense didn’t make Russell Wilson’s day easy by any means. They intercepted Wilson twice, sacked him five times, and forced two fumbles [both recovered by the Bills].’
