‘For the first time in decades, the AFC East is firmly up for grabs. Signing Cam Newton put the New England Patriots on equal footing once again, given that Bill Belichick remains in place, but Buffalo has the better roster top to bottom, so they’re going to take the division for the first time since 1995 when Jim Kelly was their quarterback.’

Josh Allen ‘in a good spot’ as Bills prepare for season-opener
‘”So, I think as far as mechanics go, I think I’m in a good spot. Obviously, there’s still a lot to work on and it’s going to be a weekly thing, day in and day out, just trying to try to perfect it. Nobody’s ever going to be perfect and I understand that, but to try to reach perfection is what you have to think about.”‘
Bubble watch: 10 players sweating out Bills’ final cuts
‘Croom is a one-dimensional player. He has some receiving ability, but he’s not going to block anybody. The Bills have three tight ends ahead of him – Dawson Knox, Tyler Kroft and Lee Smith – with defined roles. It’s unlikely Croom would beat out any of them, and keeping four tight ends is a stretch.’
Josh Allen feels he’s in ‘more control’ of Bills offense this year
‘“He’s grown since he’s been here,” Daboll said. “He grows every day. He’s dedicated to his craft, he’s an excellent leader, he understands what we want. He goes out there and he tries to do it on a daily basis. He’s got great relationships with people in the building, not just his teammates but with everybody in the building. He’s the leader of our football team.”’
Buffalo Bills roster projections as teams readies for ‘saddest day in all of sports’
‘“I don’t get paid to make decisions, I get paid to play quarterback, but come Saturday, it’s in my opinion the saddest day in all of sports. A lot of guys are losing part of themselves in the game of football.”’
How will Stefon Diggs, John Brown & Cole Beasley all eat in Bills passing attack? Easy – Brown’s already seen it
‘“John, he’s one of my favorite guys – love him,” McDermott said. “He’s all about the team (and has) a very unselfish approach, which is somewhat unique to that position. It’s been interesting and fun to watch his relationship with Stefon Diggs grow. And then really Stefon’s relationship with guys that have been here like Cole Beasley. … I just really appreciate the dynamic in that room and how everyone has taken a real unselfish approach. There’s only one ball.”’
Bills get Taiwan Jones back at practice; re-sign a running back
‘Cornerback Josh Norman and wide receiver Stefon Diggs were both limited for the second day in a row. Norman is still recovering from a hamstring injury, while Diggs is dealing with back soreness.’
Diggs, White brightening stardom through one-on-ones
‘Saying the one-on-ones between the two at camp have been competitive would be an understatement.’
Five stat questions before the Bills 2020 season
‘Singletary was extremely efficient in his rookie season, even at the end of the year when he saw a much bigger workload. He will head into his second season as the starting RB, and he is heavily favored by fans to finish with the most scrimmage yards at the position. Not sure I agree with the majority here. Moss is a powerful, versatile weapon that showed at Utah he can be a dangerous receiver in the backfield. He is a more talented player and eventually this season he will take over the majority of the work.’
Projecting the Bills 53-man roster as cut-down day approaches
‘Jones, who returned to practice as a limited participant Thursday, provides the Bills with a difference-maker on special teams. Yeldon provides depth behind both Singletary and Moss if the Bills are bit by the injury bug. He may not be the flashiest player, but he’s a reliable option in the passing game and can still play when called upon.’
Can you Diggs it? 26 Shirts partnering with Zoom Buffalo to create Allen/Diggs 2020 shirts
‘The t-shirts are only available online and cost $26 a shirt.’
Bills QB Josh Allen: “I feel like I’m more in control of the offense this year”
‘“He’s done a fantastic job. Just to be out a practice to see how he commands their huddle, to see the plays that he makes, the smart decisions he makes, the way that he can get himself out of trouble with his legs if he needs to. He was a phenomenal football player last year and he’s a better player this year. To see the growth in him from year two to year three just makes me so optimistic about him being my quarterback.”’
Bills QB Josh Allen calls NFL cut down day one of the ‘saddest days’ in sports
‘“In my opinion it’s the saddest day in all of sports. A lot of guys are losing part of them and the game of football. It’s such a sad day because there’s guys that I know can play on other teams that might not have that opportunity especially this year with all the COVID restrictions and what not,” Josh Allen said on a zoom call with reporters.’
“Excruciating” rehab got Harrison Phillips fully back and ready for the season
‘“That process was long, but I appreciate it so much because when you go through an exodus like that, you learn so much about yourself,” Harrison Phillips said to reporters on Zoom on Thursday. “Now when anything that I go through, whether it’s training camp, not getting this play, not getting that play, there’s always the perspective that I’m still healthy and I can still play, so how bad can it be? It was a long rehab but the team here that the Bills provided did a great job to keep me healthy.”’
