‘“Whether I break the pocket and run, making sure the ball’s tucked and where it’s supposed to be,” he said. “Two, it’s designed drills, which (quarterbacks) coach (Ken) Dorsey kind of puts us through and forces us to kind of get in weird positions, but also maintaining good ball security. You don’t get a lot of live reps at it, because it’s practice and we’re not really getting hit. But I think you can make strides in those two areas.”’

Bills Notebook: Jordan Poyer focuses on 1/11th as he starts season in strong form
‘Poyer made one of the defensive plays of the game when he closed fast on a screen pass to tight end Chris Herndon and forced a fumble, which the Bills recovered at the Jets’ 38. It led to a field goal that stretched the Bills’ lead to 24-10.’
Watch this: Why Bills rookie A.J. Epenesa’s dad jumped through table after win
‘“It was awesome,” Eppy Epenesa told The Buffalo News on Tuesday. “My family was celebrating A.J.’s first game with the Buffalo Bills. A.J. didn’t dress, but it’s OK. We’re here to support Buffalo from here on out. Buffalo is the only team that picked him and chose him to be there, so we’re going to support Buffalo and whatever Bills Mafia is doing to celebrate the big win.”’
Bills opener rating is highest in five years
‘The game had a 38.9 household rating on WIVB-TV (Channel 4), which was 8% higher than the 36.0 rating for the Bills’ come-from-behind 17-16 victory over the Jets in New Jersey in the 2019 opener.’
Voice of the Fan: When it comes to Josh Allen, you can see whatever you want to see
‘If you’re an Allen hater or skeptic, you saw him gift the Jets with two aggravating fumbles and a couple of wild misses that were sure scores. He cost us 13-20 points, which you can’t do against good teams.’
All that speculation about Trent Murphy’s demise clearly overblown
‘“I saw those talks and it’s asinine,” Hughes said. “He’s been huge since he got here Day 1, always putting pressure on the quarterback, making plays, so for people to write that in the offseason just goes to show how bored they were this offseason, just looking to find a story instead of finding out ways to build our team up.”’
Who’s at linebacker? Bills down four as practice begins for Dolphins game
‘Matt Milano and Tremaine Edmunds, two of the most important members of the Bills’ stout defense, are the biggest concerns. Milano has a hamstring injury and was not on the practice field, so it seems almost certain that he will not face the Dolphins.’
Bills’ Stefon Diggs details expectations of matchup vs. Dolphins’ Byron Jones, Xavien Howard
‘“They’re an athletic group, fast group. You’re gonna see press man-to-man,” Diggs said. “Went against Byron Jones a little bit in Dallas, but in this current system they gonna play a lot of man. You gotta beat man-to-man coverage. You gotta just execute at a high level as far as like doing everything you need to do to get open for your quarterback and (then) catch the ball. … That defense … I think they’re a good group. They’re active and they fly around.”’
Bills’ John Brown misses practice Wednesday with foot injury; updates on LBs Tremaine Edmunds, Matt Milano
‘The Bills are dealing with multiple injuries at the linebacker position. Backup mike linebacker Tyrel Dodson left Sunday’s game after subbing in for Edmunds with a neck injury. He was also in a red jersey but had pads on – Edmunds didn’t. Dodson was limited. Del’Shawn Phillips left the Jets game with a quad injury and didn’t return after seven snaps on special teams. He was out for stretch but then left practice and went into the building.’
Prince Amukamara: Buffalo Bills showing interest in CB (report)
‘Amukamara, 31, most recently spent time with the Las Vegas Raiders. He joined the team in May, but was released in late August as the Raiders trimmed their roster down to 53-players. Las Vegas told Amukamara that they were going to play their younger cornerbacks. At the time of his release, Amukamara told Josina Anderson that he respected the decision while adding that he can still play and thrive in any system.’
