Bills Mailbag: What should we expect from Zack Moss as a rookie?
‘Moss has been really impressive during the first week of practices open to the media. He’s flashed good hands; Sean McDermott said Moss has done a good job of blocking; and he’s lived up to his reputation as a tough runner who specializes in the tough yards Eric references. No disrespect to Gore, who is a future Hall of Famer, but Moss should be an upgrade. I’d go as far as saying he might even share carries with Devin Singletary. It won’t be a perfect, 50-50 split, but the more I see Moss, the more I think it’s going to be closer than some realize.’
Girlfriend has rookie Zack Moss ready to help the Buffalo Bills’ run game
‘“I had my girlfriend, when I was out in (California) the whole time, helping me read out some plays, doing note cards,” the third-round draft pick said recently. “I can’t speak for everyone, but I know a lot of guys that were just doing a very good job of taking everything that we learned from the (virtual) meetings and then going out and just finding even our family, or you know, high school quarterbacks, college quarterbacks, whatever, and just asking them to help us learn the playbook.”’
Bills’ Mario Addison on chance to add former teammate Cam Newton to career sack list: ‘Hell yeah!’
‘“To answer that question: hell yeah,” Addison said. “I’ve gotta add Cam to my sack list, man. I’ve been playing alongside him for years. At practice I couldn’t get too close to him. So now it’s time for me to capitalize on Cam Newton whenever I get the chance.”’
Meet Buffalo Bills hard-nosed rookie Reggie Gilliam, who’s turning heads in training camp
‘Gilliam going above and beyond to film his pro day did not surprise Toledo Rockets head coach Jason Candle. Candle told NYUP that Gilliam is the type of player that will do anything he can.’
Bills’ rookie running back Moss turning heads in training camp
‘“My mentality is to never be tackled by one guy,” said Moss. “Always try to make that first defender miss by any means necessary. That’s my mentality every time I get the ball in my hands.”’
Observations from the first week of padded practices
‘The battle for wide receiver spots has been as competitive as many thought and hoped it would be. Whether it’s Duke Williams, Isaiah McKenzie, or rookies Isaiah Hodgins or Gabe Davis, each guy has made plays at different times, and are generally making the most of their opportunities.’
