‘And even I, skepticism aside, have revised my record for the Bills to 9-7 and with the NFL’s expanded playoff format, that should be just enough to get them in.’

NFL players face ‘excruciating’ choice to opt out because of Covid-19
‘Thirty NFL players, including Bills starting defensive tackle Star Lotulelei, as of Wednesday officially chose to opt out this season, and many more are expected to follow over the coming week as the Miami Marlins’ Covid-19 outbreak reverberates beyond Major League Baseball. While some professional sports leagues, including the NBA and NHL, are using strict “bubbles” to isolate their teams from the outside world, that’s far less feasible for baseball and football.’
Duke Williams, Vincent Taylor go on Covid list, Cole Beasley on injured list
‘The designation means the two players either had a positive test for Covid-19 or are in quarantine after having been in close contact with a person or persons infected with the virus. Both players reported to the team with the rest of the veteran players Tuesday.’

Buffalo Bills place WR Cole Beasley on Active-NFI list; WR Duke Williams & DT Vincent Taylor on Reserve/Covid-19 list
‘The extent of the injury and how it occurred isn’t known, but the Bills can now keep Beasley on the 80-man roster while he recovers from the injury. The non-football injury list is a designation for players who suffered an injury not related to a football game/practice. If Beasley isn’t ready to play by final roster cutdown the team would have to place him on the reserve/non-football injury list. In that case he wouldn’t count against the team’s 53-man roster limit but wouldn’t be able to play or practice for the first six weeks of the season.’
What can Buffalo Bills expect from Motor/Moss pairing? (Training camp 2020 RB preview)
‘“This allows Devin more opportunities to show what he can do for the team,” GM Brandon Beane said upon releasing McCoy. “We believe in LeSean and still believe he can play, but you can’t look at every decision in a vaccum. After the draft Devin was a guy we were excited about, but some guys transition faster and some guys transition slower. That’s one of the decisions. Who is ready in that running back group to contribute right away? And we just felt right now that Devin would be able to help us along with the other guys that we’re keeping.”’

Duke Williams and Vincent Taylor land on the reserve/COVID-19 list
‘Williams and Taylor either tested positive for the coronavirus or have been in close contact with an infected person or people. They can return as soon as they’ve cleared testing protocols of multiple negative tests in a row.’
Bills roster in-depth: Wide receiver
‘Easley was signed to future/reserve contracts when the season ended after spending all season on the practice squad. The Bills love his work ethic and he flashed at times in camp last year, then had four catches for 41 yards in preseason before being let go during final cuts right before the regular season. He’ll be fighting for reps in training camp.’

‘Earlier in the week, rookie defensive back Ike Brown was also placed on the list.’

‘The NFI list is designated for injuries suffered away from organized team activities.’
Bills place tight end Tommy Sweeney on Active/PUP list with foot injury
‘Despite the injury, Sweeney will be able to attend team meetings and all other non-practice related activities. The team can move him off the PUP list at any point, as long as he passes a physical.’
