‘Mitch Morse has a chance to get into the discussion for All-Pro at center in 2020. Last year, Morse received two All-Pro votes. This tied him for fourth in voting along with Travis Frederick, Ben Jones and Ryan Kelly.’

Bills’ defensive coordinator Frazier believes Floyd killing can be ‘watershed moment’ for the country
‘“When I talk with our players, I just express to them the importance of finding out what can I do to make things better. Obviously there’s some injustice that has gone on,” said Frazier. “But there’s an opportunity that we have as pro athletes, as coaches, that we can make a tremendous impact because of this pedestal that we have. We have to make our voices heard, get involved, not sit back and wait on others to initiate a change.”’
Once again expectations are high for Bills defense heading into 2020
‘The Bills finished last season second in points allowed (16.2), third in total defense (298.3 yards per game) and fourth in passing yards allowed (195.2), just to name a few stats on that unit’s impressive resume. Bringing back most of those guys from last season is key but also having them continue to develop and take the next step in 2020. One of those players that comes to mind is Tremaine Edmunds who Frazier says has shown even more leadership qualities these past few months.’
Bills Today | Is there room left on Buffalo’s bandwagon?
‘Yes, with great hype comes great pressure. Last offseason, I christened Buffalo as my Cinderalla team for the 2019 campaign, and the Bills reached double-digit wins for the first time this millennium before losing in overtime at Houston on Wild Card Weekend. This offseason, the Bills bandwagon’s filling up, especially with Tom Brady out of the division and Stefon Diggs on the roster. The most important individual figure, though, might be Sean McDermott. In Year 4 on the job, McDermott’s a gem of a head coach; he’ll have Buffalo ready to meet the great Jim Kelly’s lofty expectations. McDermott’s fingerprints are all over the ferocious defense, which boasts playmakers on every level, including a pair of young Pro Bowlers in LB Tremaine Edmunds and CB Tre’Davious White.’
Versatile Ryan Bates thankful his NFL path took surprising turn to Bills
‘“I take pride in my ability to move, my athletic ability,” Bates said. “Coming out of college, a lot of people saw me as a center-guard, but they’d never seen me take snaps at center. The last time I had played center in college was in practice in 2015, my redshirt season at Penn State.”’
Pollock: Bills’ Frazier excited about training camp
‘“IT’S THE same in some ways as 2011 but it’s far different in a lot of other ways,” said Frazier of his first full season of his three as head coach of the Vikings. “We can communicate with the players whereas in 2011 you were slapped on the wrist if you tried to communicate with a player. So, if there is a better, this is better than it was back in 2011, especially if you’re a new staff. Fortunately for us we’ve been together as a staff now for the last three years going into our fourth season.”’
Buffalo Bills ST coach on impending kicker competition: Stephen Hauschka must embrace challenge vs. Tyler Bass
‘“I go back with Steve to ’08 with the Minnesota Vikings,” Farwell said. “We played a lot of games and won a lot of games in Seattle together and (have) a good friendship. That’s part of the deal, that’s part of the business. You develop these relationships with these players. … I’m hoping for the best for Steve.”’
Dawson Knox named Buffalo Bills’ key 2020 homegrown player
‘Buffalo’s success will come down to many players, but their homegrown talent will have a major say in the matter. Players such as Josh Allen, Devin Singletary, Dawson Knox, Dion Dawkins and Cody Ford are all expected to play big roles on offense this season while Ed Oliver, Tremaine Edmunds, Matt Milano, Tre’Davious White, Levi Wallace and Taron Johnson will look to do their part on the defensive side of the ball.’
Sean McDermott, Buffalo Bills coordinators returning to team facility this week
‘“Yeah, I’m sure at some point Sean will reach out to us as a staff and we’ve been talking about a bunch of different scenarios and now that that news has become public Sean will get with us and give us some direction on how we want to handle it. We have some contingencies in place and, you know, we’ll come together and we’ll talk about it.”’
Bills Franchise Five: The biggest Bills legends among those who’ve ever called Western New York home
‘Our rules here allow us to pick one head coach, one quarterback and three non-quarterback players.’
Buffalo Bills hosting blood drives throughout Western New York all week
‘The Bills are partnering with ConnectLife for a series of blood drives all across Western New York, all week from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.’
Open kicking competition: Bass vs Hauschka
‘If I was a betting man (and I am) my money is on Bass to win the job. Raw talent can’t be taught, but it can be groomed and adding a weapon like someone who can make 55+ yard field goals is something the Bills haven’t had in a long time.’
Bills Today | NFL issues guidelines for players’ return to team facilities
‘The league issued a lengthy list of protocols, which covered everything from disinfecting their phones and keys before entering the building to configuring a locker room as best as possible to keep all players six feet apart for social distancing. Team meetings may also continue to be virtual to keep player-to-player exposure to a minimum.’
Coronavirus testing Bills’ camaraderie
‘“For our team, and it may be different for other teams, we’ll start with rookie meetings just to give them their chance to get comfortable with their position coach and ask questions they had from the day before,” McDermott said. “Then, on normal days, we’ll come together in a team meeting format, or we’ll go right into unit meetings (for) offense/defense and then special teams.”‘
Academic rebound put Bills linebacker Del’Shawn Phillips on path to NFL dream
‘“A year without football is the toughest thing I’ve overcome,” Phillips said from his Detroit home. “Realizing what my life would be life would be like without football, that hit me hard and made me realize what I need to do. I knew I had messed up.”‘
