‘More likely is adding a receiver in the later rounds. Let’s say the fifth round comes around and there is a player the Bills have with a third-round grade. Is anyone going to object?’

Why the Bills should go defense at No. 54
‘The reality is that most of whatever strides the Bills make offensively will come from the development of quarterback Josh Allen. Giving him additional weapons wouldn’t hurt, but it won’t help nearly as much as what Allen will be able to do on his own. Much, if not all, of his offseason work will be done through video conferencing, thanks to restrictions caused by the Covid-19 pandemic. But he also has been able to spend time with his personal QB guru, Jordan Palmer.’
Jay Skurski’s final mock draft: QBs go early, receivers often in first round
‘It would be a shock if Beane maneuvered his way back into the first round, and he said he has no intention of moving into Round 1, but that won’t stop us from taking one final crack at projecting how those first 32 selections might be made.’
Buffalo Bills draft 2020: Five cornerback possibilities to consider
‘Last season, the Bills had at least five defensive backs on the field for about half the defensive snaps. And because the Bills enjoyed remarkable health, the group usually consisted mainly of White, Wallace, Poyer, Hyde and Johnson. When they went to six DBs, the player who most often got the call was now-departed Kevin Johnson.’
Three wide receivers Bills should target in 2020 NFL Draft
‘Although he has been projected as a first round value in many mock drafts, there is a good chance that Aiyuk drops to the second round where the Bills will be waiting. The former Sun Devil receiver is elite at creating yards after the catch and is also a top-notch route runner. Aiyuk’s ability to create space when there is none to be had, both within the route and with the ball, is as impressive as you’ll see.’
Vikings’ trade offer for Stefon Diggs was too good to pass up, Rick Spielman says
‘Cousins said last week the Vikings made a smart decision to give Diggs what he wanted and get appropriate value for the receiver, whose dissatisfaction with the team’s offense and his role in it had been reported since he skipped two days of meetings and practices following a Week 4 loss to Chicago. At the combine, Spielman cast reports of Diggs’ disenchantment as media speculation; the general manager would not comment Tuesday when asked about Cousins saying the issue was well-known.’
Rick Spielman: Vikings didn’t intend to trade Stefon Diggs until Bills offered so much ‘draft capital’
‘“We had no intention of trading Diggs at the combine,” Spielman said on a video conference call, his first comments to the media since the combine. “He was a great player for us, he was great in the community. But then there was an opportunity, business opportunity that came up, that as this evolved we felt was both good for Stefon and was good for us, and we decided to go ahead and make the trade. But we’ll always appreciate what Stefon has done for us in Minnesota.”’
From Kelly to Cousineau, the Bills’ best, worst draft picks
‘Best Second-Round draft pick: Late Bills owner Ralph Wilson liked to recount how he settled the debate over whether to select Oklahoma State running back Thurman Thomas with the 40th pick in the 1988 draft despite questions regarding his surgically repaired knee. “Hey, life’s a gamble,” Wilson said in providing then-GM Bill Polian the go-ahead to select the eventual Hall of Famer.’
Bills’ Josh Allen could break out if NFL offseason disrupted, ex-NFL QB says
‘”I think Allen’s style of play can actually be beneficial with what’s going on now and he’s more of a playmaker, a guy who can create when a play breaks down.”‘
How should the Bills attack the draft?
‘I still think the Bills should draft a receiver at some point because after Diggs, John Brown and Cole Beasley, you can basically take the rest of the names and throw them in a hat. Wide receiver is the deepest position in the draft, and on Day 3 the Bills could still find a player to make the 53-man roster and compete for the fourth spot on the depth chart. In addition, Brown has two years left on his contract and Beasley has three. It never hurts to think down the road when it comes to the depth chart.’
Bills the betting favorite to land Leonard Fournette
‘However, things have not gone so smoothly for Fournette since his rookie year, where he rushed for 1,040 yards and nine touchdowns and was one of the top rookies of 2017. He missed half of the 2018 season due to injury, and has reportedly frustrated some people in the Jacksonville organization with his lack of work ethic and maturity.’
Three running backs who could fit the Bills at pick No. 54
‘There are some interesting arguments both for and against it. Devin Singletary had a really good rookie season and figures to be the No. 1 back this season. But would the Bills consider another young back to pair with him, or even create competition for the top-role? Even if they are searching for a complement to Singletary, is that player’s playing time and are his carries going to be enough to justify using such a high selection on him, especially after the team also traded a first round pick for wide receiver Stefon Diggs and may be looking to throw the ball more, leaving even less carries and targets available for Singletary and any other back?’
Three offensive tackles that could fit the Bills at pick No. 54
‘Adding another OT in the second round this year would make a lot of sense. If Ford continues to struggle at RT, Buffalo is going to need a plan B. Even if Ford does OK on the outside, adding another prospect would give Buffalo optionality as Ford was also used as a guard last summer. Depth up front is a big need . The Bills top backup OT, Ty Nsekhe is going to be 35 by next fall.’

Bills DE Jerry Hughes doing ‘really well’ after offseason surgeries
‘“I think for us right now we just have to keep building off that continuity. It’s gonna be tough not being around the guys to get that face-to-face time of getting to know one another because one thing that we pride ourselves on is building those relationships because it’s gonna help us on how we play on the field as far as communication. That’s one thing we spend a lot of time on developing that communication on the field during this spring time,” Hughes explained.’
