‘The options in the draft are attractive and plentiful. It’s a good year to find a rookie running back, even into the fifth round. Will the Bills want to cover their bases in free agency?’

Here are 10 of the best free agent signings in Buffalo Bills history
‘In addition, Alexander became a driving force in the locker room helping to set the culture when McDermott and Beane took over the team. His retirement following 2019 will be difficult for the Bills to overcome.’
Here are 10 of the worst free agent signings in Buffalo Bills history
‘In looking back through the 27 years of NFL free agency, it was interesting to me that it was easier to find signings the Buffalo Bills hit on than the ones they missed on.’
Sources: Bills re-sign TE Jason Croom to 1-year deal
‘Croom, 26, first signed with the Bills as an undrafted free agent out of Tennessee in 2017, but didn’t record his first NFL snap until the following season.’
Buffalo Bills’ 2020 NFL free-agent signings: Josh Norman added to already-stout defense
‘Norman presumably comes to Buffalo to be the starting corner opposite Tre’Davious White. It means Norman will have an opportunity to play a role other than “de facto top cornerback” for the first time since 2014 — which could ultimately do the veteran some good. On a grand scale, Buffalo beat out three other interested parties because of its talent on defense and its readiness to compete, which is a testament to how the perception of the Bills has changed.’
Bills seven-round mock draft 2020: Why waiting on a receiver could pay off for Buffalo
‘Rd. 1, No. 22 overall: K’Lavon Chaisson, EDGE, LSU.’
Report: Bills re-sign tight end Jason Croom
‘Croom comes back to a crowded tight end room, as Tyler Kroft took a pay cut and the Bills drafted Dawson Knox and Tommy Sweeney last year in the 2019 NFL Draft. Veteran Lee Smith is also under contract for 2020 as well. Croom was expected to compete with those players in 2019, but wound up on injured reserve after suffering an injury in the preseason.’
Report: Bills re-sign Jason Croom to one-year extension
‘Croom is coming off a season where was placed on injured reserve after sitting out all of training camp and the preseason. He joined the Bills back in 2017 and spent most of that season on the practice squad. The next year he led all Bills tight ends with 22 passes for 259 yards and a touchdown. He’s currently one of six tight ends on the Bills roster.’
Trust the Process: Brandon Beane and Sean McDermott earn national praise for personnel decisions
‘”This is an organization that’s turned over pretty much their entire roster from before they got there,” said ESPN NFL analyst Bill Barnwell. “And how many of their decisions have gone right? You can count on one hand the ones that have gone wrong. They’ve gotten so many things right over the past couple of years.”‘
Ex-Browns linebacker Christian Kirksey visiting Bills
‘Kirksey, 27, is on a tour. He previously visited the Green Bay Packers and Las Vegas Raiders. He’s a 6-foot-2-inch, 235-pounder who started 54 games for the Browns over the past six years. He was limited to seven games in 2018 due to a hamstring injury, and he played just two games last season before going on injured reserve with a torn pectoral muscle.’
Josh Norman’s addition figures to limit Bills’ interest in cornerbacks
‘The agreement with Norman is a prime example of Beane’s approach to free agency since he took over as the Bills’ general manager in May 2017. He has generally taken a judicious approach, favoring short-term contracts at modest money as opposed to big splashes. He has also targeted positions of need, preferring to use free agency to plug roster holes, which then allows him to draft the best player available.’
What re-signing Quinton Spain means for Cody Ford, Josh Allen, other Buffalo Bills
‘In his first season, Spain was a leader on the offensive line on and off the field. You could see Spain regularly helping Mitch Morse identify things on the field pre-snap. That went a long way in the unit’s play and with helping Allen’s development.’
Report: LB Christian Kirksey visiting with the Bills
‘If Kirksey ultimately signs with the Bills, he would add some significant talent behind Tremaine Edumunds and Matt Milano, replacing Lorenzo Alexander who has retired. Kirksey started all 32 games for the Browns between 2016 and 2017. However, he battled with injuries as of late, playing in just nine games in the last two seasons combined.’
Quinton Spain returns to Bills; Tyler Kroft’s contract restructured
‘It’s a nice bump in pay for a player who came to the Bills on a one-year, prove-it contract. Spain earned a shade more than $2 million last season. The Bills were the only team to offer him a contract after he spent the first four seasons of his NFL career with the Tennessee Titans.’
Bills CB Levi Wallace, LB Matt Milano rank in top 10 in NFL’s performance-based pay
‘Wallace, an undrafted free agent from Alabama who completed his second season, had a base salary of $570,000 in 2019. He made an extra $363,599. Milano, a fifth-round draft pick from Boston College, had an extra $360,498 added to his base salary of $650,000.’
