‘“It’s frustrating. It’s frustrating because that’s our whole philosophy on defense, field goals and takeaways in the red zone. They were able to create some plays today and they were able to make some plays today in the red zone that we just have to be better at. It is pretty frustrating.”’

4 Observations: Eagles Beat Down Bills, 31-13
‘The game wasn’t decided by just one play but Josh Allen’s fumble was the turning point. The Bills had a 7-3 lead with under 2 minutes to play in the 2nd quarter. Brian Daboll dialed up a run call on 3rd and short, Allen fumbled, the Eagles recovered the ball and it all came unraveled. The Eagles offense went 24 yards for a touchdown to take an 11-7 at the half. After the Allen fumble, the Bills were outscored 28-6.’
Bills D gets first thumping of season
‘They allowed a season high 381 total yards last week to the Dolphins and still won. The Bills don’t think a pattern is developing, but it may have been a sign that trouble was brewing.’
Hopefully, Bills learned their lesson
‘The Bills played the first half of their game with the Eagles just about the same way they played every other game this year. The defense was excellent, the offense was decent and they were probably the better team overall, but trailed at halftime because of a killer Josh Allen turnover.’

‘However, Buffalo was unable to stop the run. The Eagles totaled over 200 yards on the ground and three scores.’
Top 3 things we learned from Bills vs. Eagles | Week 8
‘“It was frustrating because it starts up front and we’ve got to do a lot better, myself included, the whole D-line,” said Shaq Lawson. “We knew they were a good team with a good front. I guess they wanted it more than us.”’
Bills look to regroup after loss, work toward next week | Quote Sheet
‘“Anytime you get critiqued you get defensive. Part of my job is to kind of help facilitate that for the coaches. It’s always better when players see players holding guys accountable as well. This is part of one of the jobs that I have to do and it’s not a comfortable situation but it has to be done. We have leaders in every single room that will be able to do that and hold guys to a higher standard.”’
Bills Today: Frank Gore hits another NFL milestone
‘On Sunday, Gore became the fifth player in NFL history to accumulate 19,000 yards from scrimmage for his career.’
Bills with another chance to bolster big start
‘And today, one of the most interesting matchups will be Philly’s run defense against the Bills’ rushing attack. Buffalo averages 137 yards per game on the ground, seventh in the league, while the Eagles’ rushing ‘D’ is surrendering 89 yards per game, sixth-best in the NFL.’
Will offensive woes eventually undercut Buffalo’s season?
‘“We feel good about what we’ve done but we don’t feel complacent or good enough (as far as) what we want to be and where we want to go. Each week we get to learn and grow and it’s going to be no different this week. We’re trying to take it one game at a time. We’re a team that’s going to play for 60 minutes. We’re tough, we’re gritty, we’re Buffalo.”’
‘He was an animal’: Philadelphia friends tell tales about Bills’ Sean McDermott
‘Of course, McDermott’s path to becoming head coach of the Bills started long before he was offered that first menial job with the Eagles. The 45-year-old’s success is a product of the supreme work ethic and competitive spirit instilled in him as a child by his parents, Rich and Avis, and his older brother Tim. And his mindset and drive were abundantly apparent by the time he enrolled at La Salle, an all-boys Catholic school in Wyndmoor, Pa., for the start of his junior year in 1991.’
Bills’ Tre’Davious White on career validation, forcing turnovers and his ‘goalie academy’
‘”Honestly, I don’t think I’ll be validated until the end of my career,” White said. “You can’t measure the success of a defensive back three years into his career. You’ve got to wait on down the line. Because it’s a year-to-year thing with defensive backs, so you’ve got to come out with your A game each and every year.”‘
Bills Mailbag: Where would Josh Allen go in redraft of 2018 QB class?
‘It would be easy to let recency bias creep in after Sam Darnold absolutely melted down against the Patriots last week, but that’s not the only reason I’d put Allen ahead of him at this point. The Bills’ quarterback simply has better numbers. Josh Rosen would, of course, be a distant fifth.’
Bills will host desperate Eagles in Week 8
‘Eagles 24, Bills 21.’
Game-day forecast: Early rain, gusty winds, dropping temperatures
‘Temperatures will slowly fall from the low 60s to the mid-50s by late in the game. If you factor in the wind, a noticeable chill will begin to develop in the game, hopefully focusing on the Eagles and their fans.’
