‘Shutting down opposing quarterbacks has been a consistent theme. No opposing quarterback this season has produced a game grade of more than 70.0 or a passer rating of more than 85.0. The Jets’ Sam Darnold generated the highest in both categories during Week 1 with an unimpressive 68.7 game grade and an 84.9 passer rating.’

Sean McDermott: ‘Josh Allen remains in concussion protocol’, will be limited in Wednesday practice
‘All coach Sean McDermott would offer before practice was that, “We’ll get them both ready as much as we can. Josh being in the protocol, he’ll do some individual drill work but other than that, all I can say is that he’s in the protocol.”’
If Josh Allen can’t play, Buffalo Bills are confident Matt Barkley can beat Titans
‘When practice began, Allen did what McDermott said he would; he participated in the early portion which the media is allowed to watch. He was the first quarterback up in the individual drills, but it is unclear what his role was once the media was escorted off the field and the Bills went into full-team drills.’
Buffalo Bills news: Josh Allen in stage 4 of concussion protocol? What that means
‘There are five stages of the protocol and the first three are non-football steps, including rest and aerobic activity. Once a player progresses to Stage 4 he can start to take part in football specific activities, like throwing, running and catching.’
Buffalo Bills’ Ed Oliver still without a sack through 4 games, but says ‘they coming’
‘“It’s a game of inches,” Oliver said Wednesday as the Bills began their week of practice in preparation for this Sunday’s Week 5 matchup versus the Tennessee Titans. “Being inches away or a second, millisecond away is too late. When they say you gotta turn the corner tight, stay tight when you’re wrapping (around your man), (or) get their hands off you – stuff like that – they really mean it. … You really gotta flip your hips and everything they was telling me, you really have to do all of it because it’s a game of inches.”’
Former Buffalo Bills WR Percy Harvin: ‘There’s not a game I’ve played in that I wasn’t high’
‘“I was at the Mayo Clinic and I had at least seven prescriptions that I was supposed to take from Zoloft and all the other ones I was taking. The only thing that really seemed to work is when I would smoke marijuana,” Harvin said. “There’s not a game I’ve played in that I wasn’t high.”‘

Josh Allen injury update: Bills QB progressing well, but remains in concussion protocol
‘Buffalo coach Sean McDermott provided a brief update Wednesday after a big helmet-to-helmet hit in Sunday’s game against the Patriots put Allen in the concussion protocol. Allen remains in protocol, does positional work at practice
‘Bills quarterback Josh Allen remained in concussion protocol Wednesday, but was on the practice field doing individual position drills. Allen was hit in the head by Patriots defensive back Jonathan Jones Sunday in the fourth quarter. He left the game and didn’t return. Head coach Sean McDermott didn’t provide any further updates when he met with the media for his weekly Wednesday press conference.’
Sal’s first-quarter Bills superlatives
‘Obviously, it’s the defense. Absolutely incredible play from this unit through four games so far. They are ranked second in the league in yards allowed per game, leading the NFL in three-and-outs against opposing offenses, and have only allowed 45 points through the first four games (not counting TDs scored against the offense or special teams).’

‘With Allen out, the team is preparing Matt Barkley to start should Allen not be ready to go. Barkley played in the final quarter of Sunday’s game, completing 9-of-16 passes for 127 yards and an interception.’

Beat up Bills prepare for Titans
‘When asked if they would change things at all if backup quarterback Matt Barkley has to play Sunday, McDermott responded, “you’re always going to want to put players in positions that they’re comfortable in and that puts them in possession of strength, we’re extremely confident in Matt Barkley, so we’ll just see how that moves forward as we go through the week.”’
