‘The fourth quarter this season has often been good to the Bills as they have been able to find a switch to find ways to win football games. This game did not be that sort of ending for Buffalo as the Eagles continued to gash the Bills run defense, while the offense failed to move the ball down the field.’

Bills offense isn’t good enough
‘For some reason, the Bills went almost exclusively to the passing game in their attempt to register another come from behind victory. I have no problem with the evolution of the Bills into a pass driven offense, because that is how you win in today’s NFL, but how about trying to sprinkle in some runs to help out on a very windy day, which made passing the ball challenging.’
The Bills lost on both sides of the ball
‘Both the defensive line and the offensive lines were thrown all over the field. The Eagles were supposed to be fragile after getting blasted last week by the Cowboys and stabbing each other in the backs in the media, but they were anything but.’
John Brown continues impressive yardage streak
‘Passing the 50-yard mark again, Brown continues to be one of just two wide receivers to have at least 50 receiving yards in every game this season.’
Arrow Up/Arrow Down – Eagles at Bills
‘Simply put, the Bills were gashed all game long. They had no answer for the Eagles running the football. Several times when it looked like they started to figure things out, Philly came back with another big run. The Eagles lit them up to the tune of 218 yards on 41 carries for a whopping 5.3 yards per carry average.’
Bills lose to Philadelphia 31-13 as Eagles running game shines
‘Quarterback Josh Allen was under pressure all game long; he was sacked four times. He threw 16 of 33 for 169 yards and two touchdowns. He also added eight carries, many of which were a result of broken down protections.’
Bové: Eagles run early and often as Bills fall to 5-2
‘”They controlled the line of scrimmage,” McDermott said after the loss. “They came out and established the line of scrimmage early in the game and that carried through the rest of the game.”‘
One on one with head coach Sean McDermott after the Bills’ 31-13 loss to the Eagles
‘Well it’s tough with the turnover. Our turnover before the half, I thought that was a momentum swing. And then they came out and hit a big run on us in the early part of the third quarter that we didn’t fit right. That was probably the biggest momentum swing, followed by the pass, after we did get down to score on them, they hit a chunk play on us through the air.’
Bills outplayed in 31-13 loss to Eagles
‘In total, the Bills offense managed just 237 total yards, while the Eagles racked up 374 total yards, which included 221 yards on the ground.’
Rapid reaction: Bills thumped by Eagles
‘“It’s frustrating. It’s frustrating because that’s our whole philosophy on defense, field goals and takeaways in the red zone. They were able to create some plays today and they were able to make some plays today in the red zone that we just have to be better at. It is pretty frustrating.”’
4 Observations: Eagles Beat Down Bills, 31-13
‘The game wasn’t decided by just one play but Josh Allen’s fumble was the turning point. The Bills had a 7-3 lead with under 2 minutes to play in the 2nd quarter. Brian Daboll dialed up a run call on 3rd and short, Allen fumbled, the Eagles recovered the ball and it all came unraveled. The Eagles offense went 24 yards for a touchdown to take an 11-7 at the half. After the Allen fumble, the Bills were outscored 28-6.’
Bills D gets first thumping of season
‘They allowed a season high 381 total yards last week to the Dolphins and still won. The Bills don’t think a pattern is developing, but it may have been a sign that trouble was brewing.’
Hopefully, Bills learned their lesson
‘The Bills played the first half of their game with the Eagles just about the same way they played every other game this year. The defense was excellent, the offense was decent and they were probably the better team overall, but trailed at halftime because of a killer Josh Allen turnover.’

‘However, Buffalo was unable to stop the run. The Eagles totaled over 200 yards on the ground and three scores.’

‘“It was frustrating because it starts up front and we’ve got to do a lot better, myself included, the whole D-line,” said Shaq Lawson. “We knew they were a good team with a good front. I guess they wanted it more than us.”’
