‘Bills veteran linebacker Lorenzo Alexander walked up to Allen on the sideline just to offer some encouragement: “I said, ‘We’re still in it. Keep going.”‘

Buffalo Bills vs. New York Jets Week 1 report card: Josh Allen flips script in second half
‘Brian Daboll’s game plan at the start of the game was to throw early and often. It seemed to be working with Allen moving the ball down the field, but it seems questionable after seeing how well rookie Devin Singletary ran the ball. The Bills’ third-round pick played a big role in Buffalo’s first touchdown drive and carried the ball four times for 70 yards. The 17.5 yard average jumps off the page. It’s clear that Daboll needs to get Singletary more involved going forward.’

‘Buffalo’s new-look line only allowed one sack to Gregg Williams’ aggressive defense and opened up some impressive rushing lanes for the team’s backs and quarterback (5.1 team YPC average).’
Buffalo Bills-New York Jets Week 1 wrap-up: News, injuries, quotes, more
‘Buffalo’s defense carried the team most of the game, but two new additions on the offense also played big roles in the win. Veteran John Brown hauled in the game-winning touchdown against the Jets and went over 100 yards in his debut while rookie Devin Singletary ripped off four big runs against New York.’
After a poor first three quarters, Bills storm back to beat Jets on TD from Allen to Brown
‘“We love each other,” said Bills’ left tackle Dion Dawkins. “We hang out out of practice and out of the facility where a brotherhood (develops). It carries over on the field.”’
Singletary, defense carry Allen to win
‘Sunday was a win for the Bills — but it wasn’t easy by any means. The Bills defense proved it is still the highly underrated force that it has been in recent years, but the offense showed it is still the deficiency of the team.’
Buffalo Bills Week 1 Report Card: Singletary, defense shine in comeback win over Jets
‘It boggles the mind why the Bills didn’t get Devin Singletary involved early in the game. Eight of Singletary’s nine touches came in the second half. He had four carries for 70 yards, with each of his runs going for at least 10 yards. He also caught five passes for 28 yards.’

Allen, Bills Overcome 16-Point Deficit, Stun Jets 17-16
‘After struggling to get much going on offense, the Bills (1-0) finally were able to move the ball after Jets middle linebacker C.J. Mosley left with a groin injury.’
Bills come back with 17 unanswered points to beat the Jets, 17-16
‘A pair of 80+ yard drives would be needed for Buffalo to get the win, starting with a healthy dose of rookie running back Devin Singletary to kick-start the offense. Singletary would garner up 55 all-purpose yards in Buffalo’s 85-yard drive to pull within one score. Josh Allen would cap off the drive with a 3 yard scramble to make cut New York’s lead to 16-10.’
Bills offense shows up late in come from behind win
‘I’ll bet the Bills offensive game plan caught many of you by surprise. Instead of coming out and establishing the run, the Bills went “Air Daboll”. The Jets biggest weakness on defense is the secondary, specifically the corners, so the Bills came out with a no huddle, spread the Jets out, attack mentality. Allen dropped back to pass on the first 18 snaps. Out of 35 offensive plays in the first half, running backs combined for just three carries. One of the many questions about the offense in the pre-season was whether or not the Bills would be confident in winning game while leaning on Allen and the passing attack. The answer was yes in week one.’
Geary – Bills show resilience in season opening win
‘The stats won’t paint the picture, but Allen deserves a ton of credit. At times, it was ugly. Even after the four turnovers; Allen haphazardly threw the ball through the hands of defenders, into heavy coverage with regularity and flashed a similar impatience in the pocket that Bills fans got used to see his rookie season. Yet, Allen found a way to play his best football in the closing moments of the game.’
Sal: Bills at Jets – Arrow Up/Arrow Down
‘Whatever you want to call it, the Bills showed it. They were down 16-0 and then 16-3 heading into the fourth quarter. But they just kept playing and battling and made enough plays down the stretch to come away with the win. Head coach Sean McDermott has been preaching, and the team has been practicing, these very types of scenarios and situations since the first day of OTAs. It paid off in a big way to open the season.’
Bills beat Jets 17-16 to win season opener
‘Once again, the Bills defense kept the team in the game. The unit recorded three sacks in the first half alone, four total on the day, one of them from Jerry Hughes which moved him into a tie for 6th place in franchise history with 43 sacks as a Bill.’
Josh Allen orchestrates fourth quarter comeback as Bills top Jets
‘“I don’t think many teams can turn the ball over four times in the first half and only be down 6-0,” Allen said.’
