‘Cincinnati’s passing success this season, though, is offset by an invisible ground game. The Bengals are averaging a beyond-anemic 30 yards per game, last in the league. And that’s not all the bad news. The Bengals are 32nd (last) in the NFL in percentage of red zone touchdowns (17), 30th in rushing yards surrendered (166 per game) and 29th in points surrendered per game (31).’

Buffalo’s Allen growing into quarterback role
‘To which Daboll added, “With experience, the more you see, the more you play, the more comfortable you get. I have a lot of faith and confidence in Josh, the way he goes about his business, and we just keep on grinding and getting better.”’
‘We want diversity’: Bills lead NFL in hiring women to work with players
‘The Bills this season employ 12 women who work directly with players, helping them prepare to perform their best on Sundays. Four are full-timers. Eight are interns, either on seasonlong or two-year appointments. And that doesn’t count those on the team’s business side, several of whom joined Pegula for that night out in South Carolina.’
Eric Wood on playing career, broadcasting and Bills’ prospects
‘”I think the way my career ended, where it wasn’t on my own terms, it was injuries and not being cut, it’s always going to leave some gray area where I kind of sit there and think, ‘Could I still do it?’ ” said Wood, who joined the Bills in 2009 as a first-round draft pick from the University of Louisville and still makes the city his home as he did throughout his NFL career. “I know I could still play at a high level. But I just would never pass the physical again. So, yeah, I miss it and there’s a lot of times I wish I was still playing.”‘

Bills Mailbag: How active should team be ahead of NFL trade deadline?
‘Promoting a player from the practice squad is the easiest move, since it doesn’t involve negotiating compensation with another team for a player. So that would be the most probable. As for the trade possibilities, I’ll start with Ramsey first: He’s an All-Pro talent, but the Bills have a No. 1 cornerback in Tre’Davious White. They also had the best pass defense in the NFL last year without Ramsey. It’s not worth trading a first-round draft pick (at least) to fix something that’s not broken. As for Landry and Diggs, I’m not seeing why the Browns or Vikings would be in a rush to move either player.’
In a wake disguised as a tailgate party, Bills fans pay respects to ‘Pancho Billa’
‘Saturday was just that, “and more,” said his longtime partner, Veronica Borjon. “Every time we came to Buffalo, we knew we were home. Even before his diagnosis, Ezra loves Buffalo, Ezra loves the fans, this was his home away from home. This is home to us.’
What could a future Buffalo sports stadium offer? Boston gives a glimpse
‘But she did acknowledge the importance of building a community around a new or renovated stadium. It’s happening in cities from San Diego to Atlanta to Green Bay and now Boston. Green Bay aside, those markets are decidedly larger than Buffalo, and the scope and cost of their projects may be, too. But the concept applies everywhere: Sports teams need to generate revenue year-round, and monetize every possible space in their facilities. “That’s what we’re in the job of doing,” Jacobs said in Boston.’

Bengals at Bills: Sal’s keys, notes and stats
‘Cincinnati wide receiver John Ross is currently second in the NFL with 270 yards receiving. The league’s leading receiver, D.J. Chark of the Jaguars, already played his week three game. So, Ross is the two-week leader. He’s also tied for the NFL lead with three receiving touchdowns and is second with an outstanding 24.55 yards per catch. With the Bengals struggling to run the football so far this year, they’ve been attacking vertically, and often with Ross, who played a total of eleven games his first two years due to injuries. The Bills secondary prides themselves on not allowing the big play. The incredibly fast Ross will be their toughest challenge yet. How they deal with him, and what he’s able to do or not do, could go a long way in determining the outcome of this game.’
