‘Abysmal doesn’t begin to describe Josh Allen’s performance Sunday.’

‘“I don’t think you guys (in the media) are going to possibly understand that, because you guys are going to sit here and say how good we played. But ultimately we didn’t win the game and we felt like we could have done more.”’

‘“Well, we looked at it and in this situation, we didn’t feel that that contact rose to the level of an ejection,” Riveron said by phone from the league’s officiating headquarters in New York. “The player (Jones) actually turns. Obviously, there is helmet contact, but we have standards for an ejection, and this did not rise to that standard; therefore, we did not eject him. There was a foul called and, obviously, the penalty stood, but we did not feel this contact rose to that level.”’

‘Gore got to the milestone in style, with a 41-yard rush straight up the gut in the second quarter in which he bounced off multiple tacklers. That pushed Gore’s total to 88 yards for the game, exactly the amount he needed to hit the milestone. He joins Emmitt Smith (18,355 yards), Walter Payton (16,726) and Barry Sanders (15,269) as the only players with at least 15,000 yards. If he stays healthy, Gore should pass Sanders for third place later this season.’

‘Buffalo’s Patrick DiMarco was left trying to block two rushers coming off left tackle – Brandon Bolden to his inside and Jackson to his outside. It was an impossible task.’

‘Allen forced a deep throw down the middle on the Bills’ first drive, and safety Devin McCourty made an easy interception. He returned it to midfield to set up the New England Patriots’ first TD. Late in the quarter, Allen had a slow trigger and threw an interception on a deep pass for Zay Jones.’

‘There was an inability by Allen – and by extension offensive coordinator Brian Daboll – to handle pressure from the opposing defense. Daboll also hasn’t been able to coach the dumb decisions out of Allen’s game, although no coach might be able to do that.’
