‘There’s no question Yeldon offers more than Perry as both a runner and a receiver. From a pure talent standpoint, Yeldon easily is one of the top 53 players on the team. This is a guy who rushed for 1,108 yards as a true freshman on a 2012 Alabama team that won the national championship.’

Corey Bojorquez survives challenge for now; Bills claim young edge rusher
‘Ryan Allen, cut by New England last week, is one veteran punter available. He posted numbers similar to those of Bojorquez last season. Houston and the New York Giants are two teams both with two veteran punters with starting experience on their current roster.’
What He Said: Josh Allen on Mitch Morse, Andrew Luck, Duke Williams
‘Well, there’s always work to be done but having Mitch back is obviously great for us as an offense. The knowledge that he brings, the communication, the leadership that he brings. It’s just fun to have him out there again. There’s still a lot of things to work on that we’re going through through practice. Unfortunately we won’t have those in-game reps, but knowing Mitch and his background and how long he’s played at such a high level. So I’m not worried at all.’
Despite wins, ratings for Bills preseason games down
‘Bills games are by far the highest-rated TV programs of the summer in Buffalo. The highest-rated prime time entertainment program Friday night opposite the Bills game had a 2.6 rating.’
Andrew Luck’s retirement shocks, saddens Josh Allen, Matt Barkley
‘“Everybody has to determine their own time, when they’re ready, and if he’s played his last play, he had a heck of a career,” said Beane. “Any time somebody with his talent retires like this, you hate to see it for the league, such a great player and representative of what the NFL is all about.”’
Bills’ Josh Allen enjoying having Mitch Morse back at practice
‘“The knowledge that he brings, the communication, the leadership that he brings – it’s just fun to have him out there again,” Allen said after practice. “There’s still a lot of things to work on that we’re going through through practice. Unfortunately we won’t have those in-game reps, but knowing Mitch and his background and how long he’s played at such a high level … I’m not worried at all.”’
Buffalo Bills release punter Cory Carter; claim LB Jeff Holland off waivers from Cardinals
‘Carter was in the middle of a position battle with fellow punter Corey Bojorquez, but he suffered a knee injury and wasn’t able to punt against the Detroit Lions last week. Bojorquez punted five times for an average of 47.2 yards-per-punt and he put one inside the 20-yard line.’
Patriots’ Tom Brady playing role in Buffalo Bills QB Josh Allen’s development?
‘“[Watching] the greatest quarterback to ever do it, how he changes certain things, on certain coverages what he thinks and where his eyes go, just picking up on little things. … He just knows the game so well, he understands situational football, he’s not going to force the ball into too many windows, he understands his checkdowns, he knows where his outlets are, he’s fine with taking 2-3 yards on a throw. … He trusts his offense and he trusts his receivers and running backs to go make plays for him. And that’s something that this year, we’ll be doing a better job of.”’
Buffalo Bills 53-man roster projection: Deciphering the Duke Williams/Isaiah McKenzie conundrum
‘Christian Wade has been a wonderful story but he didn’t play last week and is likely headed for the allocated practice squad spot.’
Bills sloppy in third preseason game
‘A positive takeaway from the game was the return of rookie tight end Dawson Knox, who saw his first game action of the preseason after dealing with a hamstring injury throughout the past several weeks. Another rookie, wide receiver Duke Williams, caught his second touchdown pass in as many weeks and is making a late push for a roster spot. Running back Devin Singletary, also a rookie, scored a touchdown on his lone carry of the first half.’
Waiver claim lands Jeff Holland on third NFL team this month
‘Holland started training camp as a member of the Denver Broncos. When the Broncos waived Holland, the Cardinals claimed him on Aug. 12.’
Bills Claim Linebacker Jeff Holland, Release Punter Carter
‘Carter returned to practice after missing Buffalo’s 24-20 preseason win at Detroit on Friday with a knee injury. He had been competing with Corey Bojorquez for the team’s punting job.’
Bills’ Duke Williams making noise to be on the opening day roster
‘Williams is not a kid that just got out of college. He’s 26-years-old and started with the Edmonton Eskimos in 2017. When Williams found out he was going to get some time with Josh Allen and the starters, he didn’t make too much of it, “It’s football. I don’t try to put no pressure on my shoulders, I just try to go out there and make plays, earn my teammates trust, earn the coaches trust and make the best of my opportunity.”’
The Bills release punter Cory Carter & claim a linebacker
‘As for Cory Carter, he suffered a season ending knee injury during the preseason last year, and dealt with injuries again in recent weeks. His release means that Corey Bojorquez is the lone punter on the roster. Does that mean he’ll be the Bills punter on opening day? He hasn’t quite been so good that that can be assumed.’
Morse progressing, Nsekhe returns
‘“As an offensive line we have to work as a cohesive group so getting the timing down of what everyone does is very important and key to our success,” Nsekhe said. “Practice is a little harder than the game so if we can just the reps and just continue to gel as a unit we’ll be alright.“’
