‘“In this league, in general, it’s always competition,” McCoy said. “I’m a type of guy, I thrive off off having a big name. So when guys come to my team, they’re curious to see, ‘How is LeSean McCoy? Is he still a good player?’ I mean, I’m a dominant player. I think that speaks for itself. But I’ll be in the same role as last year. And I look forward to putting some numbers up and bouncing back from that last season.”’

Bills’ Allen targeted what he wanted to get better at this spring
‘Allen has always seemed to work well with offensive coordinator Brian Daboll. He said Ken Dorsey joining the offensive staff has also helped him, “I feel like I’ve done a good job. I’ve had a lot of great help around me. Dorsey, having him here has been a great addition. Having the eyes of Matt and Tyree and Shea and Coach Daboll. we’ve all been doing a great job in the quarterback room of seeing things and relaying things to each other and that open line of communication that we have has been awesome. It’s going to continue grow and continue to get better and hopefully we will see some results on the field too.”’
Sal’s AFC East position battles: Running back
‘The Bills might have the most depth of any team in the division, but a lot of questions at the top of that depth chart, and most of them are about LeSean McCoy.’
Beating Murphy’s Law
‘”He just looks like he’s in a different mental space,” Sean McDermott said. “Another year removed from where he was last year when we first got him here and there’s a lot that goes into that. Trent’s a better one to ask.”‘
How veterans and alumni play a key role in rookie development for the Bills
‘“After going through a tough year last year of just onboarding new players, a new approach had to be undertaken,” McDermott said. “I think the best teams, businesses do it well, but I’m not sure everyone does it. We’re all trying to find the competitive advantage.”’
Bills Today: LeSean McCoy’s motivation for the upcoming season
‘“I think it will be pretty big,” McCoy told Jones. “We have a new offensive line. We paid some money there and guys (are) looking good, working hard together. We have a young quarterback who is making plays. You know, me and Frank together, we’re a duo.”’
LeSean McCoy expects to be in ‘same role as last year’ with Bills
‘”In this league, in general, it’s always competition,” McCoy, who turns 31 in July and is entering the final year of his contract, said after the second day of practice at the Bills’ mandatory minicamp. “I’m a type of guy, I thrive off of having a big name. So when guys come to my team, they’re curious to see, ‘How is LeSean McCoy? Is he still a good player?’ I mean, I’m a dominant player. I think that speaks for itself. But I’ll be in the same role as last year. And I look forward to putting some numbers up and bouncing back from that last season.”‘
Josh Allen, Jordan Poyer go back and forth at Bills’ practice
‘“It’s good to have that type of competitiveness, that type of challenge,” Allen said Wednesday. “I wouldn’t want it any other way. We’re out here trying to make each other better and that’s what we’re doing.”’
How an Orchard Park family helped Bills’ Dion Dawkins find his lost dog
‘Dawkins said the dog is about 11 months old, named “Cami” because her fur resembles camouflage. He said the dog is so gentle and well-behaved that he had fallen into the habit of opening his front door to let her out for a few minutes, early in the morning, right after he gets up.’
Buffalo Bills minicamp 2019: Jordan Poyer turns up heat on Josh Allen (5 observations)
‘“The competition out there each day is very high and Josh is a competitor and Josh wants to win,” Poyer said. “We’re all competitors at the end of the day. I was talking to (wide receiver) John Brown today before practice and I said, ‘Hey, let’s go out there and compete against each other today.’ That’s the only way we’re going to get better.”’
Devin Singletary named ‘dark-horse candidate’ for top rookie running back
‘If Singletary continues to perform well at this week’s mandatory minicamp and into training camp, it’s possible that he carves out a larger role than expected in 2019. If that happens, Gil Brandt, a former personnel administrator enshrined in the Pro Football Hall of Fame, believes Singletary could be a dark-horse candidate to be the top rookie running back.’
Lawson taking giant steps
‘One can only hope that this is a sign of Lawson ‘showing’ his maturation process and not him ‘telling’ us that he is going through that. One can only hope that this is the emphasis he can bring off the field, so he can bring that added focus once he gets back onto the field this season.’
Bills QB Allen Focused On Staying Upbeat Entering 2nd Season
‘”When adversity hits, you’ve got to persevere and overcome. A big saying in my family household growing up was ‘APO’. Adjust, persevere, overcome,” Allen added. “That was from my high school coach. My dad loved it and he says it every day.”‘
While Bills offense has dealt with injuries, defense benefiting from continuity
‘“It’s huge,” safety Micah Hyde told me after practice Wednesday. “Communication purposes. I know where ‘Po’ (Jordan Poyer) is going to be at at all times. I know what calls he’s going to make. I know Tre’Davious (White). I know Tremaine (Edmunds), D-Line, same thing. I know what gap they’re going to be in. So once you can pinpoint where everybody’s going to be and you know you’re job, and you know what you can’t mess up on, the sky’s the limit.”’
Bills’ Foster learned a lot from an up and down rookie season
‘McDermott wanted Foster’s habits to change, so what does that really mean? Foster said, “I put more time into it, more time into my ability, more time into the business side of it, more time in the film room, more time to meet with my coaches and just try to build a chemistry with my teammates and eliminating distractions.”’
