Goodell talks stadium at Kelly Classic
‘“The reason why I’m supportive is because I want to make sure this franchise remains stable and continues to remain competitive,” Goodell said. “I think it’s great for this community and we’ve been able to do these stadiums in a way that it creates a tremendous economic benefit. I want the Bills to be successful and I want them to continue to be competitive here in Buffalo.“’
Generations of Bills come together at Jim Kelly golf tournament
‘“Jim Kelly and his family,” said Jamestown native and NFL commissioner Rodger Goodell on why he was in attendance. “Listen I’m a huge fan of Jim and who doesn’t admire Jim? Not just from his playing days but from the struggles and how he’s overcome them, just a huge fan.”’
Bills Today: NFL Network’s Michael Robinson picks this team to win the AFC East
‘“They had all of these offseason additions. First of all, Frank Gore, he’s going to be a Hall of Famer – I blocked for him,” Robinson said. “He’s going to be able to talk to ‘Shady’ (LeSean McCoy), and say, ‘Look, bro. You need to run a little harder.’ Or whatever the case may be. Cole Beasley, always open, a nice guy that’s going to be open for Josh Allen whenever he gets in trouble. Then they took care of the offensive line. They took care of the line of scrimmage: Spencer Long, Mitch Morse, Ty Nsekhe, LaAdrian Waddle … and Cody Ford. I love the pickup. And then Ed Oliver on the defensive side to push that pocket that Tom Brady likes to have.”’
Bills bond under sun at Micah Hyde’s charity softball game
‘It included Allen chugging beer after winning the home run derby (because, apparently, that’s what quarterbacks do these days at sports venues). It included 6-foot-6-inch, 329-pound defensive tackle Jordan Phillips lifting 5-foot-8-inch, 173-pound Isaiah McKenzie off first base and carrying him to the dugout after the offense’s attempt to insert him as a pinch runner for 314-pound guard Wyatt Teller. It included McDermott taking an impromptu at-bat that resulted in a ground out. He then walked over to the first base wall, where he obliged numerous fans’ autograph requests with the game in progress.’

‘While he lacked Stafford’s speed, Allen finished the entire can in a timely manner. Well done, Josh. Well done.’
NFL Films producing ‘A Football Life’ documentary on Buffalo Bills legend Bruce Smith
‘Smith’s ability to get after the quarterback was one reason why the Bills had so much success in the late-80s and early-90s. In his 19 year career, Smith was named to 11 Pro Bowls. He was a first-team All-Pro eight times in his career and was named a second-team All-Pro twice. Smith was also a four-time AFC Defensive Player of the Year and was twice named the NFL’s Defensive Player of the Year.’

Defense tops offense in Hyde’s charity softball game
‘”You know, we’ve raised over 40,000 for this event — we’re able to give it back to the community of Buffalo,” Hyde said Sunday. “We have backpack drives, we have the Bills helping us put on the Thanksgiving event, Christmas event. We like to do a lot of stuff in Buffalo because that’s where we are at right now. All the money we raise for this is going back into the community.”‘

I love just watching them being out here and having fun.”’
Bills Today: Two 2018 Bills UDFAs who shouldn’t be overlooked
‘Levi Wallace was another undrafted free agent that made the most of his opportunity in his first NFL season, and he took the league by storm in the Bills’ final seven games. Among the 69 NFL cornerbacks with 200 or more coverage snaps played in Weeks 10-17, Wallace ranked second in coverage grade (85.3) and first in yards allowed per coverage snap (0.45).’
How a youth track team spawned six NFL players, including Bills’ Victor Bolden Jr.
‘In 2006, when they were 11 or 12 years old competing in the midget division, Bolden was among a group that featured…’.
Which of the five 2018 first-round quarterbacks will fare the best in 2019?
‘Based on his rookie season, the Browns’ Baker Mayfield deserves to be considered the favorite in the battle of 2018 first-round quarterbacks. Mayfield was excellent after taking over for Tyrod Taylor, and has seen his team add a legitimate No. 1 receiver in Odell Beckham Jr. Given that Rosen is in a quarterback competition with Ryan Fitzpatrick, he should be looked at as No. 5 on the list. After that, Josh Allen, Sam Darnold and Lamar Jackson are all in similar positions, with Bills, Jets and Ravens fans respectively holding out hope that they have their guy. Jackson’s team had a lot more success than the Bills or Jets last year, but that gap should close in 2019.’
