‘”No, I ain’t concerned. It’s motivation. I know what time it is. It’s do or die,” Lawson said. “I’ve been through a situation like this before. It’s just a small step. Me, I’m just gonna go out there and ball this year and see where everything falls.”‘

OTA Notebook: Ed Oliver the latest addition to Bills’ injured list
‘The team’s first-round draft pick was in a red, non-contact jersey during the team’s organized team activity, with coach Sean McDermott saying that Oliver is dealing with a sore shoulder.’
Pump the brakes: Jim Kelly isn’t going to be a Bills coach
‘“I feel fortunate that he’s able to come over and talk to us,” said Allen. “It’s always good to get new ideas, especially from a guy like Jim, a Hall of Famer who played at the highest level for a long time. Just kind of picking his brain, seeing what he did on film and actually being able to ask him what his thought process was on a certain concept. Football has not changed that much; they ran the same concepts that we still run to this day.”’
Consensus on Josh Allen from Jim Kelly, Kyle Williams and Bill Polian: The sky’s the limit
‘“I love when he’s in the huddle talking to the players,” said Kelly. “They run a route, 7-on-7, team drills, they come back and he’s talking to the receiver he threw to and to the guys he didn’t throw to. It reflects back to what I was doing with Andre Reed, James Lofton, Don Beebe. You have to be on the same page and when you have a quarterback who’s willing to say something, to talk and communicate with your receivers on what you’re doing, that’s a huge, huge start. I’m excited.”’
Buffalo Bills OTAs 2019 Week 3: Mitch Morse roars; Josh Allen struggles (7 observations)
‘That’s about all you need to know about Allen’s day. He looked frustrated at times and things just wouldn’t turn in a slow plodding practice. Just like last week, though, when it’s good and when it’s bad, it’s important to keep these May practice in their proper perspective.’
Buffalo Bills OTAs 2019: Winners and losers | Josh Allen, LeSean McCoy and more
‘Teammates are raving about Allen’s development, maturity and competitive nature. It’s hard not to leave One Bills Drive and not get the impression that the team has bought in when it comes to Allen – on both sides of the ball. But nothing can be won in May. Allen is going to have to prove it all season long.’
Star veteran quietly mentors bubbly Bills pupil
‘“Star is one of those guys who doesn’t really talk much,” said Oliver, a three-year starter at the University of Houston. “To pick his brain, you really have to talk to him. He’ll tell you whatever, but he’s kind of old school.’
Would the NFL Really Take the Bills Out of Buffalo?
‘As tantalizing as it might be to inject another market into the picture, or dangle the Bills to Toronto like the NFL did a few years ago during the sale process, it seems like the league should be protecting what they have there. Buffalo, like Green Bay in a way, is an organic patch of what the league used to be before the profit surge. While no area is completely untouched, outposts like Buffalo provide a glimpse of the old landscape, back when there was a modicum of regional pride and sense of community associated with these things. The more you pave down the green to stack the taller buildings, you realize what you missed in the first place. Here’s hoping it doesn’t go that far.’
Bills still dealing with plenty of injuries as OTAs roll on
‘Head coach Sean McDermott said that Kroft remains the most serious and only long-term injury with his broken foot, but added, “anytime you miss it is serious, because we need you out there/. There’s a number of guys that aren’t practicing, so its hard to develop the team when you’re not practicing and not available.”’
Morse wants to make Allen’s job “as easy as possible”
‘“Absolutely,” he said when asked if he’s sure he’ll be ready for training camp. But then he took it one step further. “I should be on track for next week to be back for minicamp, which is exciting.”’
Poloncarz “here for the community” when it comes to the Bills’ new stadium
‘”These things take time. The current lease expires in 2023. I think the best way to answer (where the Bills are at) is exactly what Kim Pegula said when she spoke at the owners meetings; she doesn’t know which direction we’re going to go, which means we’re still very early in the process. All options are on the table when you start a negotiation. We have a good line of communication. I usually meet with Kim maybe twice a year. And with other members of the Bills organization, we meet with them monthly on all kinds of issues associated with the stadium. So when it comes to negotiations regarding the future, I feel we’re in a good position to start when the Bills feel it’s necessary.”‘
Joe B: 7 Observations from Buffalo Bills OTAs – Week 3
‘On the positive side for the Bills, they’re about to get their prize of free agency back at full capacity. Center Mitch Morse, the player that the Bills hope that can be a catalyst to a massive improvement along the offensive line, in addition to being to be the leader of the group. Morse had core muscle surgery shortly after he signed with the Bills, and his rehab process kept him on the sidelines for much of the team’s OTAs. However, on Tuesday, Morse took a step forward to participate in walkthroughs with the rest of the team all while donning a non-contact jersey.’
Bills battle for 2nd cornerback spot
‘Levi Wallace: You know those guys come in and their hungry you know, so it just makes me step up my craft and try to master what I do, even at a higher level. But it’s been good, and like I said the receivers have pushed us as well, with John Brown and Cole’s not in right now, but with Rob even coming back, you know, it’s been really good to go against those guys, and they make us better.’
Allen: “Thankful” to learn from Jim Kelly
‘“It’s always good to get new ideas, especially from a guy like Jim who is a Hall of Famer and played at the highest level for a very long time,” Allen said. “For myself, just kind of picking his brain and talking and seeing what he did on film and actually being able to ask him what his thought process was on a certain concept. You see it nowadays too, football has not changed that much. They ran the same concepts that we still run to this day so in order to pick his brain has been really good for me.”’
Coach McDermott speaks before final organized team activities
‘McDermott discussed the battle for the cornerback position opposite Tre’ White. He talked about free agent signee Kevin Johnson and his ability to make plays on the ball. “He’s had a tough career as far as the challenges with injuries, that said, what I’ve seen to this point is a young man who is extremely focused, works extremely hard, is smart, plays the game the way we want it to be played, and has gotten his hands on some footballs this spring to this point, which is important to us as far as taking the ball away and playing good defense” McDermott said.’
