‘“That’s what you do, you talk about, what is the number for the option number? What is the franchise [tag] number roughly look like it’s going to be next year based off what’s been signed this year? And then, what else is going to be a free agent out there?,” Beane said. “We maybe even take a look… we won’t have a great look, but we’ll take a quick a look on what’s coming out in the draft potentially next year.”’

Spencer Long eager to rebound from Jets experience, earn starting job on Bills line
‘“Even though last year might not have been the best year, I was pretty proud of how I fought through some pretty tough adversity,” Long said after a recent workout at One Bills Drive. “The stats aren’t going to show it. The tape might not have been my best tape. But nobody knows what was going on behind the scenes. I take pride in putting myself out there and giving it a shot when stuff wasn’t perfect.”’
Buffalo Bills sign the ‘LeBron James of football’ David Sills to undrafted free agent contract
‘Sills garnered national attention by leading the country in touchdown receptions at West Virginia. But he was in the national spotlight long before that as a middle school quarterback when he received an offer from USC as a 13-year-old. It led to outlets calling Sills the “LeBron James of football,” an impossible moniker for a barely-teenager to live up to. Sills has overcome injuries, scrutiny and college transfers to transform his body and his game. Now his journey has brought him to Buffalo, where he has a shot to earn a spot on an NFL roster.’
Buffalo Bills GM Brandon Beane could have been arrested for stealing Ed Oliver, says Adam Schein
‘After efficiently addressing the offensive line and receiving corps during free agency, Beane could have been arrested for stealing on Thursday night, somehow landing defensive lineman Ed Oliver with the ninth overall pick. Oliver is an absolute freak, given the quickness and athleticism he brings to the table. And he played out of position — routinely lining up as a nose tackle — at Houston. Playing for Sean McDermott, Oliver will be properly deployed as a game-wrecking penetrator. Don’t be surprised when he becomes an All-Pro.’
Buffalo Bills won the 2019 NFL Draft, says Terrell Davis
‘I really like what the Buffalo Bills did in the 2019 NFL Draft. With defensive tackle Kyle Williams retiring this offseason, Buffalo landed one of the highest-graded DTs in this class in Ed Oliver. Guard Cody Ford should help keep second-year quarterback Josh Allen from routinely running for his life, and fourth-round tight end Dawson Knox addresses a need the Bills have tried to fill for years. But the pick I’m most excited about is running back Devin Singletary. He’s in the perfect position to learn and succeed behind two veterans ( LeSean McCoy and Frank Gore) and should earn some playing time.’
Projected 2019 Buffalo Bills depth chart after NFL Draft and free agency
‘Running back: LeSean McCoy, TJ Yeldon, Frank Gore, Devin Singletary, Marcus Murphy, Keith Ford, Senorise Perry, Christian Wade.’
Demos: My thoughts on the Bills, NFL Draft weekend
‘With the amount of capital that was used rather than traded away, several “steals” throughout the process and even adding undrafted free agents that could contribute, Buffalo has put itself in position to compete for playoff contention in 2019. Even considering 2017’s playoff season, this looks like it may be the Bills’ best chance to win the AFC East since the turn of the century.’
What the Bills liked about Tyree Jackson and how he fits in
‘“I truly thought he would be drafted,” Beane said immediately following the three-day draft, but noting that nothing was official yet and that Jackson still had to pass a physical. “He was on our draft board to be drafted. I’m surprised. You saw his name still sitting there late in the seventh, and you start going, ‘Man, if this kid doesn’t get drafted, we’re going to have to go after him.’ And we did.”’
It’s time to pick the Bills
‘Add it all up and it comes to 10-6.’
Joe B: Buffalo Bills post-draft breakdown — Offense
‘If Allen continues to show the level of play that he did at the end of the 2018 season, and with a better supporting cast around him, defenses will adjust to attempt to rattle him. It’s how Allen and the Bills respond to those adjustments that will define his second season.’
Bills Today: Buffalo’s draft class ranks here according to The Athletic
‘I just as easily could have gone with Ed Oliver, but to land Ford at pick No. 38 is tremendous value (No. 19 on my board). The Bills flirted with the idea of trading up for Oliver, but he fell in their laps without having to sacrifice trade-up assets. Ford can start at either tackle or guard and will be a valuable foundation piece as the Bills look to build the offense around Josh Allen.’
