‘”Ideally in free agency, you can knock out as many ‘needs’ that you have, which makes it easier to draft best player available. I know that’s always a big debate. Are teams really drafting best player available versus need and all that,” Beane said. “If you go in and you have a major hole, you don’t have a starting position somewhere, then you have to get that position somewhere fairly high in the draft. I feel that if we rolled the ball out now, we’ve got guys that can go in and play. Can we get better? Yes, and [just like in free agency] we hope to, in the draft, find some more talent to add competition to as many spots as we can.”‘

Bills Today: Bills 2018 draft grade still strong a year later
‘Buffalo had eight picks in last year’s NFL draft culminating in players like Josh Allen, Tremaine Edmunds, Harrison Phillips and Taron Johnson. Eleven months after the draft, ESPN NFL draft expert Mel Kiper Jr. took a look at each franchise’s 2018 draft class and re-graded them after one year. Buffalo originally received an ‘A’ from Kiper Jr. for the haul and one-year later they received an A-. Only Cleveland and Indianapolis received higher grades than what was originally given to them.’
Bills players Spencer Long, Jeremiah Sirles support Nebraska flooding

It’s the real deal out here. I don’t think the nation really understands what’s going on out here.”’

Joe B: 2019 NFL Mock Draft No. 1
‘DT Ed Oliver, Houston.’
Bills Today: Where would Josh Allen’s basketball skills rank among NFL QBs?
‘Allen is listed in the same category as Cam Newton, Ben Roethlisberger, Carson Wentz, Matt Ryan, Joe Flacco and Andrew Luck. Allen is the new kid on the block, just like another Buffalo team looking to make a splash in the tournament this year and would probably shock some of the “blue-bloods” of the QB world like Roethlisberger and Ryan with his talent. The NCAA tournament tends to lean towards teams with veteran talent, but it isn’t always surprising to see a well-coached group of young players make their impact.’
Jay Skurski’s Mock Draft 2.0: Bills have options after free agency
’11. Buffalo Bills (projected trade with Cincinnati). Ed Oliver, DT, Houston. The Bills re-signed Jordan Phillips, but only on a one-year contract, so Oliver could be the long-term replacement for Williams as the team’s three-technique defensive tackle. Oliver was massively productive in college, making 192 tackles (including 53 that went for losses), 13.5 sacks, 11 passes defensed and five forced fumbles in three seasons. He has drawn comparisons to Aaron Donald, the Rams’ star defensive tackle. The Bills pick up a third-round pick to move down two spots – and get the same player they could have taken at No. 9.’
